Why Everyone Is Talking About Psychoastrology® for Emotional Health (And You Should Too)
Have you ever felt like you’re stuck in a loop? Maybe you keep dating the same "type" of person who isn't good for you, or perhaps you find yourself hitting a wall every time you try to level up in your career. We’ve all been there. Usually, we turn to traditional therapy to talk through our past, or we check our horoscopes to see if Mercury is in retrograde again.
But what if you could do both at the same time?
That’s exactly why everyone is talking about Psychoastrology®. Created by Lisa Tahir, LCSW, this unique approach is changing the game for emotional health. It’s not just about where the stars were when you were born; it’s about using that celestial map to unlock deep, psychological healing.
In this post, we’re going to dive into why this blend of psychology and astrology is becoming the go-to for people seeking transformation, and why you might want to consider it for your own journey.
What Exactly is Psychoastrology®?
At its core, Psychoastrology® is the intersection of personal psychology and natal astrology. While traditional psychotherapy focuses on your upbringing, attachment styles, and cognitive patterns, Psychoastrology® uses your birth chart as a diagnostic tool to pinpoint exactly where those patterns began.
Lisa Tahir, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 20 years of experience, realized that while talk therapy is incredibly effective, adding the layer of astrology allows for a "fast-track" to the soul. It provides a language for things that are often hard to put into words: those deep-seated feelings of "not being enough" or the invisible barriers we put up around our hearts.
By looking at your chart through a clinical lens, Lisa helps you see that your challenges aren't just "bad luck." They are often tied to specific "core wounds" that are actually opportunities for your greatest healing.

The Heart of the Practice: The Chiron Effect
If you’ve spent any time on the Nolatherapy website, you’ve probably seen the word Chiron pop up quite a bit. In astrology, Chiron is known as the "Wounded Healer." It’s a minor planet (or asteroid) that represents our deepest vulnerabilities.
In her book, The Chiron Effect: Healing Our Core Wounds through Astrology, Empathy, and Self-Forgiveness, Lisa explains that where Chiron sits in your birth chart reveals the specific area where you feel most wounded. It could be a wound of abandonment, a wound of inadequacy, or even a wound of "not belonging."
The magic of Psychoastrology® is that it doesn't just stop at identifying the wound. It uses that knowledge to foster self-empathy and self-forgiveness. Instead of judging yourself for your struggles, you begin to see them as part of your unique blueprint. This shift in perspective is where the real healing begins.
Why This Isn’t Just Your Morning Horoscope
Let’s be real: astrology gets a bit of a "woo-woo" reputation sometimes. We’ve all seen the memes about "typical Scorpios" or "classic Geminis." But Psychoastrology® is different. Because Lisa is a highly trained therapist, she brings a level of clinical groundedness to the practice that you won't find in a standard astrology reading.
When you book a session, you aren't just getting a reading; you’re getting a therapeutic intervention. Lisa uses integrative techniques like meditation, energy principles, and intuitive coaching to help you process what your chart reveals. It’s a holistic approach that respects both the science of the mind and the mystery of the spirit.

4 Ways Psychoastrology® Can Transform Your Emotional Health
So, why are so many people making the switch to this integrative approach? Here are four major benefits:
1. Rapid Self-Awareness
Traditional therapy can take months to uncover certain core triggers. Psychoastrology® can often highlight them in the very first session. By looking at your Chiron placement and other planetary aspects, you get an immediate "map" of your internal landscape. This clarity allows you to focus your energy on the areas that actually need healing.
2. Breaking the "Same Old" Patterns
Whether it’s in your relationships or your relationship with money and success, we all have repeating cycles. Psychoastrology® helps you understand the source of these cycles. Once you see the "why" behind your behavior, you gain the power to choose a different path.
3. Cultivating Radical Self-Forgiveness
Many of us are our own harshest critics. We carry guilt for past mistakes or shame for our perceived flaws. Through the lens of the "Wounded Healer," we learn that our wounds are not our fault. They are parts of us that require extra love and attention. This path to self-forgiveness is a cornerstone of Lisa’s work and is essential for long-term emotional health.
4. Empowerment and "At-Choice" Living
One of Lisa’s favorite phrases is being "at choice." Psychoastrology® isn't about fate; it’s about agency. It gives you the tools to stop reacting to life and start responding to it. You learn that while you may have been dealt a certain hand (your natal chart), you are the one who decides how to play it.

Healing from Anywhere: The Power of Virtual Therapy
In today’s fast-paced world, finding time for self-care can be tough. One of the reasons Psychoastrology® is gaining such a following is its accessibility. Lisa offers all of her services: from traditional counseling to deep-dive Psychoastrology® sessions: via Zoom and FaceTime.
Whether you’re dealing with anxiety, PTSD, or just a general sense of feeling "stuck," you can access high-level care from the comfort of your own home. This virtual accessibility makes it easier for busy professionals, parents, and anyone looking for a more flexible way to prioritize their mental health.
Dive Deeper with "All Things Therapy"
If you're curious about these topics but aren't quite ready for a one-on-one session, Lisa’s podcast, All Things Therapy, is an incredible resource. She interviews experts in psychology, spirituality, and personal transformation, bringing the concepts of Psychoastrology® to life through real-world conversations. It’s a great way to start shifting your mindset and soaking in the compassionate, insightful energy that Lisa brings to all of her work.

Are You Ready to Explore Your Blueprint?
Emotional health isn't just about the absence of illness; it’s about the presence of peace, purpose, and self-love. If you feel like you’ve reached the limit of what traditional methods can offer, it might be time to look to the stars: and your soul: through Psychoastrology®.
Healing is a journey, not a destination. And sometimes, having a map that includes both your psychology and your astrology can make that journey a whole lot clearer (and a lot more beautiful).

Why Psychoastrology® Will Change the Way You Approach Personal Growth
Have you ever felt like you’re doing all the "right" things for your mental health: going to therapy, journaling, practicing mindfulness: but you still keep hitting the same invisible wall? Maybe you find yourself dating the same type of person who isn't right for you, or perhaps you feel a persistent sense of "not being enough" despite your professional successes.
Traditional talk therapy is an incredible tool for understanding our past and managing our behaviors. But sometimes, we need a different kind of map to navigate the deeper, more spiritual layers of our existence. That’s where Psychoastrology® comes in.
Developed by Lisa Tahir, LCSW, Psychoastrology® is a unique, integrative method that bridges the gap between Western psychology and the ancient wisdom of astrology. It’s not about predicting your future or telling you who you’re going to marry; it’s about providing a diagnostic blueprint for your soul’s healing.
In this post, we’re going to dive into why this approach is a total game-changer for personal growth and how it can help you finally break those stubborn patterns that have been holding you back.
What Exactly is Psychoastrology®?
At its core, Psychoastrology® is the intersection of clinical psychotherapy and natal astrology. While psychology gives us the framework to understand our cognitive patterns, attachment styles, and family dynamics, astrology provides a symbolic language that speaks to our higher purpose and our inherent challenges.
Think of your birth chart as a snapshot of the sky at the exact moment you were born. In the world of Psychoastrology®, we don’t just look at your Sun sign to see if you’re "stubborn" or "emotional." Instead, we use the chart as a diagnostic tool to identify where your energy might be blocked.
Specifically, we look at the placement of Chiron, a minor planet known as the "Wounded Healer." This placement reveals your "core wounds": those deep-seated vulnerabilities that often drive our most self-sabotaging behaviors. By combining this astrological insight with evidence-based psychological techniques, we can create a highly personalized path to transformation.

The Power of the "Chiron Effect"
In her book, The Chiron Effect: Healing Our Core Wounds through Astrology, Empathy, and Self-Forgiveness, Lisa Tahir explains that our wounds aren't defects. They are actually doorways.
When we identify where Chiron sits in our chart, we identify a specific area of life where we feel fundamentally "broken." This could manifest as:
- Wounds of Worth: Feeling like you always have to earn love or success.
- Wounds of Communication: Feeling like your voice doesn't matter or you aren't heard.
- Wounds of Control: A deep need to manage everything around you to feel safe.
The magic happens when we stop trying to "fix" the wound and start applying empathy and self-forgiveness to it. In Psychoastrology® sessions, we use this knowledge to bypass months of "digging" in traditional therapy. We go straight to the root of the pattern, allowing for a much faster and more profound shift in perspective.
3 Reasons Psychoastrology® Changes Your Approach to Growth
1. It Moves You from Shame to Clarity
Most of us carry a lot of shame about our struggles. We think, "Why am I still anxious about this?" or "Why can't I just be more confident?"
When you see your struggles mapped out in your astrological chart, it shifts the narrative. You realize that these challenges are part of your "soul’s curriculum." It’s not that something is wrong with you; it’s that you have a specific area of sensitivity that requires extra care. This clarity instantly reduces shame and opens the door for real healing.
2. It Identifies the "Why" Behind Repeating Patterns
Ever feel like you’re stuck in a "Groundhog Day" loop? Psychoastrology® highlights the exact themes that keep popping up in your life. By understanding the astrological "why," we can apply psychological "how-tos" to change the outcome.
For example, if your Chiron is in a sign that struggles with boundaries, we won't just talk about why you have no boundaries; we’ll use the astrological archetype to find the specific strengths you can use to build them. It’s a holistic approach that honors your whole self: spirit and mind.
3. It Prioritizes Self-Forgiveness as a Practice
Healing isn't just an intellectual exercise. You can know why you do something and still keep doing it. Lisa’s approach emphasizes that empathy and self-forgiveness are the active ingredients in change. Psychoastrology® gives you a framework to be kinder to yourself. When you understand the magnitude of the wound you’ve been carrying, it becomes much easier to forgive yourself for the coping mechanisms you developed to survive it.

Beyond the Couch: Accessible, Virtual Healing
One of the biggest hurdles to personal growth is accessibility. Life is busy, and finding a therapist who "gets" both the clinical side and the spiritual side can be tough.
That’s why Lisa offers her services globally through Zoom therapy and FaceTime sessions. Whether you’re looking for couples therapy to heal relational wounds or individual sessions to work on your career and self-esteem, the virtual format makes it easy to integrate this deep work into your actual life.
You don’t have to choose between "science-based therapy" and "spiritual growth." You can have both from the comfort of your own home.
Small Shifts, Big Transformation
Growth doesn’t have to be a painful, uphill battle. In fact, Lisa often teaches that small, approachable shifts in our thoughts and beliefs are more sustainable than trying to overhaul our entire lives overnight.
Through the lens of Psychoastrology®, we use journaling, affirmations, and even meditation to slowly rewrite the "scripts" our wounds have been following. We learn to listen to the messages of our bodies and our intuition, creating a life that feels balanced and aligned.

About Lisa Tahir, LCSW:
Lisa is a licensed psychotherapist and the founder of Psychoastrology®. With over 20 years of experience, she helps individuals and couples navigate the complexities of life using a blend of traditional psychotherapy and intuitive, spiritual wisdom. She is a recognized speaker and author dedicated to helping people reach their highest potential.
Your Chiron Sign Matters: Why It’s the Key to Unlocking Personal Transformation
Have you ever noticed that certain challenges in your life seem to repeat themselves, no matter how much "work" you do? Maybe it’s a nagging sense of not being "enough" in your career, or a recurring pattern of feeling misunderstood in your relationships. We often treat these struggles like bugs in our software that need to be deleted. But what if those very vulnerabilities were actually the key to your greatest strength?
In my work as a therapist and the creator of Psychoastrology®, I’ve found that the most profound shifts happen when we stop trying to "fix" ourselves and start understanding the architecture of our inner wounds. At the center of that architecture is a small but mighty celestial point called Chiron.
Understanding your Chiron sign isn't just about astrology; it’s about deep, transformative psychology. It’s the missing piece of the puzzle for anyone looking to achieve true work/life balance, emotional freedom, and self-growth.
What is Chiron? Meet the "Wounded Healer"
In Greek mythology, Chiron was a centaur known for his wisdom and healing abilities. Ironically, he suffered from a wound that he could not heal for himself. This archetype, the Wounded Healer, represents the parts of us that feel most broken, rejected, or sensitive.
In your birth chart, Chiron is represented by a symbol that looks like a key. And that’s exactly what it is: a key to unlocking your potential. While your Sun sign represents your ego and your Moon sign represents your emotions, Chiron represents your core wound.
But here is the beautiful part: the place where you were hurt the most is also where you have the most to offer the world. By healing your own Chironic wound, you develop a unique type of empathy and wisdom that allows you to help others in a way no one else can.

The Magic of Psychoastrology®
I created Psychoastrology® to bridge the gap between traditional psychotherapy and spiritual insight. While traditional therapy is incredible for processing trauma and changing behavior, adding the lens of astrology helps us see the blueprint of why those patterns exist in the first place.
In my book, The Chiron Effect, I explore how this placement governs different areas of our lives, psychological, emotional, social, and even financial. When we identify our Chiron sign, we stop shooting in the dark. We can pinpoint exactly where our "sensitivity orbit" lies and start applying the specific medicine that placement requires.
How Your Chiron Sign Shapes Your Life
Each Chiron placement tells a different story about where you might feel "less than." Here are a few examples of how these wounds manifest and, more importantly, how they transform:
Chiron in Cancer: The Wound of Belonging
If your Chiron is in Cancer, your wound often centers around themes of abandonment or not feeling "at home" in the world. You might have experienced a lack of emotional nurturing in childhood, leading to a lifelong quest for security.
- The Transformation: Healing comes through learning to mother yourself. When you become your own source of safety, you become a powerful nurturer for others, creating "home" wherever you go.
Chiron in Taurus: The Wound of Worth
Taurus is all about the physical world and self-worth. A Chiron in Taurus placement might show up as a struggle with body image, financial insecurity, or a feeling that you don't deserve the "good things" in life.
- The Transformation: Transformation happens when you decouple your value from your productivity or your bank account. You learn to honor your body as a temple and find security within your own being.
Chiron in Virgo: The Wound of Perfection
Virgo seeks order and health. With Chiron here, you might be your own harshest critic, constantly feeling like you’re "not enough" because you aren't perfect. This can manifest as health anxiety or workaholism.
- The Transformation: The shift occurs when you embrace the beauty of "good enough." Your attention to detail becomes a gift of service rather than a weapon of self-criticism.

The Process of Personal Transformation
Unlocking your Chiron isn't a one-time event; it’s a journey of integration. In my sessions, whether we’re doing Zoom therapy or in-person work, we follow a path of conscious transformation:
- Identify the Wound: We look at your chart to see where Chiron sits. This brings the "unconscious" into the light.
- Recognize the Patterns: We look at your history. Do you always pick the same type of partner? Do you always hit a wall at work when things get too successful? These are "orbits" around your Chiron wound.
- Self-Empathy and Forgiveness: This is the most crucial step. We use meditation and intuitive techniques to meet that wounded part of you with compassion instead of judgment.
- Rewire the Belief: Using principles of energy and mindset work, we replace the "I am broken" narrative with "I am healing and gaining wisdom."
- Integration: We don't try to erase the wound. We integrate it. Just like the Japanese art of Kintsugi, where broken pottery is mended with gold, your scars become the most beautiful and valuable part of you.
Why Now? The Importance of the Chiron Return
If you are between the ages of 48 and 51, you are likely experiencing what we call the Chiron Return. This is a major astrological milestone where Chiron returns to the place it was when you were born.
It can be a challenging time, as old wounds often resurface with new intensity. However, it is also the single most potent time for personal transformation. It’s an invitation to finally lay down the burdens you’ve been carrying for half a century and step into your role as a "wise elder" or mentor.

Moving Toward Your Best Self
At Nolatherapy, I believe that emotional health is the foundation for everything else: your career, your relationships, and your sense of purpose. By understanding your Chiron sign, you gain a map of your soul's deepest challenges and its highest potential.
You don't have to navigate this alone. Whether you're dealing with anxiety, relationship issues, or a general sense of being "stuck," looking at your life through the lens of Psychoastrology® can provide the clarity you’ve been searching for.
Take the Next Step
If you’re ready to stop orbiting your wounds and start living from your strengths, here are a few ways we can work together:
- Book a Session: I offer highly personalized therapy sessions via phone, FaceTime, and Zoom to accommodate your busy schedule.
- Listen and Learn: Check out my podcast, All Things Therapy, where I dive deep into these topics with incredible guests.
- Read the Book: Pick up a copy of The Chiron Effect to explore your specific sign and start your own self-guided healing journey.
Your Chiron sign is not a life sentence of pain; it is a blueprint for your evolution. It’s time to pick up the key and see what’s waiting on the other side of the door.

Why Psychoastrology® Will Change the Way You View Your Mental Health
Have you ever felt like you’re doing all the "right" things for your mental health: going to therapy, journaling, practicing mindfulness: but you still find yourself bumping up against the same invisible walls? Maybe it’s a recurring pattern in your relationships where you feel "not enough," or a persistent career block that keeps you playing small despite your talent.
Traditional psychotherapy is a powerful tool for understanding our past and managing our present, but sometimes it feels like we’re looking at a map that’s missing a few pages. This is where Psychoastrology® comes in.
As a licensed clinical social worker with over 20 years of experience, I’ve seen how traditional methods can sometimes reach a plateau. That’s why I developed Psychoastrology®: a unique blend of depth psychology and natal astrology designed to help you identify, understand, and finally heal your deepest core wounds. It isn't just about "what's in your stars"; it's about using the blueprint of your soul to navigate your mental health with newfound clarity and compassion.
What Exactly is Psychoastrology®?
At its heart, Psychoastrology® is an integrative therapeutic approach that sits at the intersection of personal psychology and natal astrology. It doesn't use astrology to predict the future or tell you who you're going to marry. Instead, it uses your birth chart as a diagnostic tool: a psychological map that illuminates the unconscious material you might have been carrying for decades.
Think of it this way: Depth psychology gives us the "why" behind our behaviors, while astrology provides the "where" and "how" these patterns are hardwired into our energy. By combining these two, we can move past surface-level symptoms and get straight to the root of your struggles.
In my practice at Nolatherapy, I use this method to help clients bridge the gap between their spiritual selves and their psychological well-being. Whether we are working through Zoom therapy sessions or exploring these concepts in my book, the goal is always the same: personal transformation.
The Secret Key: The Chiron Effect
The cornerstone of Psychoastrology® is a minor planet known as Chiron, or "The Wounded Healer." In astrology, Chiron represents our deepest core wounds: the ones that often feel like they’ll never fully go away.
In my book, The Chiron Effect: Healing Our Core Wounds through Astrology, Empathy, and Self-Forgiveness, I explain how the placement of Chiron in your birth chart acts as a pointer toward your recurring life themes. These aren't just "problems" to be solved; they are invitations to heal.
The "Chiron Effect" is the gravitational pull of these wounds. When we are unaware of them, we orbit around our pain, unconsciously making choices in our relationships and careers based on old injuries. For example:
- Chiron in Aries might manifest as a wound around your right to exist or take up space.
- Chiron in Taurus might show up as a persistent feeling of physical or financial insecurity.
- Chiron in Gemini often relates to wounds around communication and being "heard" or understood.
By identifying your specific Chiron placement, we can stop guessing why certain things keep happening to you and start working on the specific energy that needs your attention.
Why Astrology Matters for Your Mental Health
You might be wondering, "Lisa, I’m a skeptic. How does a planet help me with my anxiety?"
It’s a fair question! The beauty of Psychoastrology® is that it provides a framework for self-reflection that is highly personalized. Standard therapy often categorizes issues (e.g., "General Anxiety Disorder"), which is helpful for clinical treatment. However, astrology adds a layer of nuance. It explains your specific flavor of anxiety and how it relates to your sense of identity, security, or belonging.
Using astrology in a therapeutic setting allows us to:
- Remove the Shame: When you see a pattern in your chart, it feels less like a "personal failing" and more like a "soul contract" or a natural part of your makeup.
- Identify Blind Spots: Astrology can highlight parts of our personality we’ve repressed or ignored.
- Validate Your Intuition: Many clients feel a massive sense of relief when we discuss their chart. They often say, "I've always felt this way, but I didn't have the words for it."
The Two Secret Ingredients: Empathy and Self-Forgiveness
While the chart provides the diagnosis, the "medicine" in Psychoastrology® is always Empathy and Self-Forgiveness.
Many of us are our own harshest critics. We beat ourselves up for "knowing better" but still making the same mistakes. In our sessions, we shift that narrative. We look at your younger self: the one who developed these patterns as a survival mechanism: with deep compassion.
Self-forgiveness isn't about letting yourself off the hook for bad behavior; it's about acknowledging that you were doing the best you could with the tools and the "wounding" you had at the time. When we forgive ourselves, we break the cycle of shame that keeps us stuck in the Chiron orbit. This is where real emotional health and personal transformation begin.
How It Works in Real Life
Imagine you are someone who constantly struggles with work/life balance and feels a compulsive need to overachieve to feel worthy. In a traditional session, we might talk about your childhood and your parents' expectations.
In a Psychoastrology® session, we would look at your Chiron placement. If we find Chiron in your 10th House (the house of career and public image), we see that your wound is specifically tied to your "status" in the world. Knowing this allows us to use targeted affirmations and "state practices" to shift your internal value system. Instead of just "trying to relax," you are working on the fundamental belief that your worth is not tied to your output.
This blend of spiritual insight and practical psychological tools is what makes this approach so life-changing. It’s not just talk therapy; it’s soul-work.
Moving Toward Wholeness
Healing isn't about erasing your past or pretending you don't have wounds. It’s about becoming the "Wounded Healer" yourself. It’s about taking the wisdom you’ve gained from your struggles and using it to live a more conscious, empowered, and loving life.
If you’re ready to look at your mental health through a new lens, I invite you to explore this path with me. Whether you’re interested in individual counseling, couples therapy, or simply diving into the world of Psychoastrology® through my podcast, All Things Therapy, there is a space for you here.
Your mental health is a journey of returning to yourself. Let's use every tool available: from the couch to the stars: to help you get there.

10 Reasons Your Personal Transformation Isn’t Working (And How Psychoastrology® Can Fix It)
We’ve all been there. You buy the journals, you download the meditation apps, you listen to the podcasts, and for a week or two, you feel like a brand-new version of yourself. You’re ready to conquer the world! But then, life happens. The old habits creep back in, the "why" feels fuzzy, and suddenly you’re back on the couch wondering why "transformation" seems to work for everyone except you.
If you’re feeling stuck in a loop of starting and stopping, please know that it’s not because you’re "lazy" or "broken." Often, it’s simply because the tools you’re using aren’t tailored to the unique blueprint of who you are. This is where Psychoastrology® comes in. By blending the deep, therapeutic roots of psychology with the cosmic insights of your natal chart, we can uncover the specific roadblocks holding you back.
Let’s dive into the 10 most common reasons personal transformation stalls and how we can use Psychoastrology® to get you back on your path to self-growth.
1. You’re Chasing Someone Else’s "Why"
In our "hustle culture," we’re often told what we should want: a better body, a six-figure salary, or a perfectly curated morning routine. But if your goal isn't aligned with your core vitality (your Sun sign) or your emotional needs (your Moon sign), your motivation will eventually run dry.
How Psychoastrology® Fixes It: We look at your Sun and Mars placements to see what actually energizes you. If your Mars is in a sensitive water sign, a high-intensity "grind" might drain you, while a more creative, flow-based approach to your goals would make you feel alive. We find your authentic "why" so that the motivation comes from within, not from social pressure.
2. You’re Ignoring Your "Wounded Healer"
Most self-help advice tells you to "just stay positive" or "look forward." But if you haven't addressed the underlying wounds that shape your behavior, you’re just putting a band-aid on a deep cut. This is the heart of my work with The Chiron Effect.

How Psychoastrology® Fixes It: By locating Chiron in your natal chart, we identify your "core wound": the area where you feel most inadequate or "broken." Instead of running from it, we learn to integrate it. When you understand how your past pain is actually a gateway to your greatest strengths, your transformation becomes grounded in real healing rather than avoidance.
3. You’re Misdiagnosing the Problem
Sometimes we think our problem is "procrastination" or "laziness," but the deeper issue is actually a fear of failure or a need for control. If you treat the symptom instead of the cause, you’ll never see lasting change.
How Psychoastrology® Fixes It: We use the lens of Pluto and the 8th House to look at what’s happening beneath the surface. Are you sabotaging your success because you’re afraid of the power that comes with it? By uncovering these unconscious patterns, we can address the root of the issue so the "symptoms" can finally clear up.
4. You’re Using a One-Size-Fits-All Plan
What works for a high-energy Aries might be a recipe for burnout for a gentle Pisces. If you’re forcing yourself into a rigid structure that doesn’t match your psychological temperament, you’re setting yourself up for frustration.
How Psychoastrology® Fixes It: Through my integrative therapy services, we look at your element balance: Fire, Earth, Air, and Water. If you have a lot of Air in your chart, you might need intellectual stimulation and variety to stay engaged. If you’re Earth-heavy, you’ll thrive with tangible, step-by-step benchmarks. We build a transformation plan that fits you.
5. You’re Underestimating Your Subconscious Resistance
Your brain is wired for safety, and to your subconscious, "change" (even good change!) feels like a threat. This is why you might find yourself reaching for a snack or scrolling on your phone the second you try to work on a big goal.
How Psychoastrology® Fixes It: Your Moon sign and your 4th House tell us what you need to feel safe. If your emotional foundation feels shaky, your brain will resist change to protect you. We work on building internal safety first, so your nervous system can handle the "upgrade" of personal transformation without going into fight-or-flight mode.
6. You’re Lacking the Right "Learning Language"
Have you ever tried a productivity method that just felt like a foreign language? We all process information differently. If your growth plan isn't in your "native tongue," it won't stick.
How Psychoastrology® Fixes It: We look at Mercury, the planet of communication and learning. By understanding your Mercury sign, we can determine if you learn best through talking things out, visual journaling, or quiet reflection. When the tools match your mind, the transformation feels easy, not like a chore.
7. Your Environment is Fighting Your Growth
You can’t heal in the same environment that made you sick. If your relationships or your physical space are constantly triggering your old patterns, transformation is an uphill battle.
How Psychoastrology® Fixes It: We examine your 7th House (partnerships) and 11th House (community). We identify which connections are supportive and which might be subtly holding you back. Sometimes, transformation requires setting new boundaries or finding a new "tribe" that reflects the person you are becoming.
8. You’re Fighting the Natural Timing of Your Life
There is a season for everything: a time to plant and a time to harvest. If you’re trying to launch a major life change during a period that is meant for rest and reflection, you’re going to feel like you’re hitting a wall.

How Psychoastrology® Fixes It: We look at your current transits, such as your Saturn Return or Jupiter cycles. Knowing the "weather" of your life helps you decide when to push forward and when to consolidate your energy. Working with the cycles of time rather than against them makes your efforts ten times more effective.
9. You’re Trying to Change Everything at Once
Transformation fatigue is real. When we try to overhaul our diet, career, and relationships all in the same month, we usually end up changing nothing.
How Psychoastrology® Fixes It: We prioritize. Based on your current astrological "activations," we can see which area of life is most ready for a breakthrough. By focusing your energy on one or two key areas, you build the momentum needed to eventually transform everything else: one sustainable step at a time.
10. You’ve Bypassed Your Emotional Truth
This is the biggest one. If your transformation is purely mental or physical but ignores your soul's truth, it won't feel fulfilling. You might reach your goal and still feel empty.
How Psychoastrology® Fixes It: My approach is always holistic. Whether we’re doing Zoom therapy or chatting on my podcast, All Things Therapy, I encourage you to bring your whole self to the table. Psychoastrology® is about meaning-making. It’s about understanding that your life has a purpose and a story. When your transformation is rooted in that story, it becomes a joyous evolution rather than a struggle.

Struggling for Self-Worth? 10 Insights from Psychoastrology® to Help You Heal
Do you ever feel like there’s a small, persistent voice in your head whispering that you’re "not enough"? Maybe you’ve achieved great things on paper, but inside, you still feel like a bit of a fraud. Or perhaps you find yourself stuck in the same relationship patterns, always giving too much and receiving too little.
If this sounds familiar, I want you to know two things: first, you are absolutely not alone. Second, you aren't "broken."
In my work as a therapist and the creator of Psychoastrology®, I’ve spent years helping people navigate these deep-seated feelings of inadequacy. By blending the clinical precision of psychology with the ancient wisdom of astrology, specifically looking at the placement of Chiron in your birth chart, we can find a roadmap to healing that feels both grounded and deeply spiritual.
In my book, The Chiron Effect, I dive into how our core wounds are actually our greatest opportunities for growth. Today, I want to share 10 insights from this practice to help you reclaim your self-worth and start living the life you truly want.
1. Locate Your "Core Wound" (Meet Chiron)
In astrology, Chiron is known as the "Wounded Healer." It’s represented by a symbol that looks like a key, and for good reason, it’s the key to unlocking your deepest healing. In your natal chart, Chiron marks the spot where you feel fundamentally flawed or rejected.
When you identify your Chiron placement, you aren't just looking at a planet; you’re looking at a soul-level map of where your self-worth struggles began. Whether it's a fear of abandonment or a feeling that your voice doesn't matter, naming the wound is the first step toward masterfully healing it.
2. Integration, Not Repair
One of the biggest misconceptions in the self-help world is that you need to "fix" yourself. I’m here to tell you that you aren't a broken appliance. You are a whole human being.
Psychoastrology® teaches us about integration. Healing isn't about cutting out the parts of you that hurt or feel "weak." It’s about bringing those tender, sensitive parts back into the fold. When we stop trying to "repair" ourselves and start trying to understand ourselves, our self-worth naturally begins to rise.

3. The Medicine is in the Wound
This is one of my favorite mantras. It might feel counterintuitive, but your deepest insecurity is often the doorway to your greatest gift.
If you’ve struggled with feeling invisible, you might develop a profound ability to make others feel seen. If you’ve dealt with the pain of addiction or anxiety, that struggle can become the foundation for incredible empathy and strength. Your wound isn't just a source of pain; it's a source of "medicine" for yourself and the world.
4. Name the "Not Enough" Story
We all have a "story" we tell ourselves. It usually sounds like, "I’m too much," "I’m not smart enough," or "I’ll always be rejected." These stories are often tied directly to our Chiron placement.
Take a moment to get quiet. If that feeling of low self-worth had a single sentence, what would it say? Once you name the story, it loses its power over you. You can look at it and say, "I see you, but you aren't the truth of who I am."
5. Radical Self-Forgiveness Starts Within
We often think of forgiveness as something we do for others, but in the realm of emotional health, self-forgiveness is the priority.
Low self-worth is often fueled by shame over past mistakes or "wasted" time. But through a compassionate lens, we see that those choices were just survival mechanisms for a wounded part of us. Use your meditation practice to speak inwardly to that younger version of yourself. Tell them, "I forgive you. You were doing the best you could with the tools you had."

6. Vulnerability is a Superpower, Not a Defect
Most of us spend our lives building walls to hide our vulnerabilities. We think if people see the "real" us, they’ll leave.
Psychoastrology® flips this on its head. Your sensitivity around your Chiron wound is a lifelong invitation to connection. When you are brave enough to be vulnerable, you give others permission to do the same. This creates authentic relationships based on truth rather than a "perfect" facade, which is a massive boost to your sense of worth.
7. Practice "State-Shifting"
Healing isn't just a mental exercise; it’s a physical and energetic one. When you feel the "shame spiral" coming on, you need tools to shift your state.
I often recommend FaceTime or Zoom therapy sessions to help clients work through these moments in real-time, but you can also use breathwork or visualization. If you’re feeling "low," literally move your body. Change your environment. Step outside. By shifting your physical state, you interrupt the neurological patterns of low self-worth.

8. Recognize the "Chiron Patterns"
Low self-worth doesn't just live in our heads; it shows up in our daily lives. Do you over-apologize? Do you stay in relationships that diminish you? Do you shrink yourself in work meetings?
These are "Chiron patterns." They are the lived expressions of your core wound. When you start to recognize them as patterns rather than personality traits, you gain the power to choose a different response. You can start to say "no" where you used to say "yes," and "yes" to the opportunities you used to avoid.
9. The Significance of the Chiron Return
If you are between the ages of 48 and 51, you might be feeling an intensified pressure around your identity and purpose. This is the Chiron Return: the moment when Chiron returns to the place it was when you were born.
It’s often a period of "reckoning," but it’s also the most fertile time for healing. If old wounds are resurfacing, don't panic. They are coming up because you finally have the wisdom and the strength to integrate them once and for all.
10. Turn Your Wound into Service
The final stage of healing in Psychoastrology® is moving from the "Wounded" to the "Healer." Once you have done the work to empathize with your own pain, you naturally become a beacon for others.
Ask yourself: Who could be helped by what I’ve been through? Whether it’s through your career, your parenting, or your creative projects, using your journey to help others is the ultimate affirmation of your worth. You realize that your life: all of it, even the messy parts: has immense value.

Final Thoughts
Rebuilding self-worth is a journey of returning to yourself. It’s about peeling back the layers of societal expectations and old traumas to find the vibrant, worthy soul that has been there all along.
If you're ready to dive deeper into your own chart and start the process of personal transformation, I’m here to help. Whether through a private session or by listening to the latest episode of All Things Therapy, let’s work together to turn your wounds into your greatest strengths.
You are worthy. You are enough. You are exactly where you need to be.
With love and light,
Lisa Tahir, LCSW
Why Psychoastrology® Will Change the Way You Approach Personal Growth
Have you ever felt like you’re doing "all the things" for your personal growth, yet somehow you keep hitting the same invisible wall? Maybe you’ve tried traditional talk therapy, dove deep into yoga, filled dozens of journals, and read every self-help book on the bestseller list. You understand your problems intellectually, but the feeling of being stuck: the anxiety, the self-doubt, or the repeating patterns in your relationships: just won't budge.
It’s frustrating, isn’t it? It’s like having a high-tech GPS but no map of the actual terrain you’re walking on.
This is exactly where Psychoastrology® comes in. It’s a method I developed to bridge the gap between the logical mind and the spiritual soul. By blending the clinical precision of psychology with the symbolic wisdom of astrology, we can finally stop managing symptoms and start healing the root.
In this post, we’re going to explore why this unique approach is a total game-changer for your personal transformation and how it can help you live a more balanced, compassionate life.
What Exactly is Psychoastrology®?
At its core, Psychoastrology® is the intersection of your personal psychology and your natal astrology. As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), I’ve spent decades helping people navigate trauma, anxiety, and relationship issues through psychotherapy and counseling. But I’ve always known that we are more than just our diagnoses or our past experiences. We are cosmic beings with a blueprint that exists beyond the physical realm.

Psychoastrology® doesn't ask you to choose between science and spirituality. Instead, it uses astrology as a diagnostic lens. Think of your birth chart not as a "prediction" of your future, but as a psychological map of your inner world. It highlights your natural strengths, your communication style, and, most importantly, your deepest vulnerabilities.
When we combine this "map" with traditional therapeutic tools: like cognitive behavioral techniques and mindfulness: we create a personalized path to healing that feels both deeply meaningful and incredibly practical.
The Chiron Effect: Finding the Wounded Healer
A major pillar of my work is centered around a specific point in your astrological chart: Chiron. In mythology, Chiron was known as the "Wounded Healer." In Psychoastrology®, your Chiron placement represents your "core wound": the specific area where you feel most sensitive, inadequate, or "broken."
I wrote about this extensively in my book, The Chiron Effect: Healing Our Core Wounds through Astrology, Empathy, and Self-Forgiveness. I believe that until we identify this core wound, we are often just "gardening in the dark." We pull a weed here and there (a bad habit, a temporary bout of stress), but the roots remain untouched.

Whether your core wound is related to a sense of belonging, your worthiness, or your ability to speak your truth, The Chiron Effect helps you name it. Once it has a name, it loses its power over you. You stop seeing yourself as "wrong" and start seeing yourself as someone who is carrying a specific, workable pattern.
From Self-Criticism to Self-Forgiveness
One of the most transformative shifts that happens when you embrace Psychoastrology® is the move away from harsh self-criticism. We live in a culture that tells us we need to "hustle" our way out of our problems. We think that if we just criticize ourselves enough, we’ll eventually change.
But here’s the truth: criticism is a terrible motivator for long-term healing. It usually just leads to more anxiety and procrastination.
In our virtual sessions, I focus heavily on self-empathy and self-forgiveness. When you look at your chart and see that your struggles aren't "your fault," but are instead part of a larger archetypal pattern you are here to master, something beautiful happens. You exhale. You begin to treat yourself with the same compassion you’d offer a dear friend.
Healing becomes less about "fixing" what’s broken and more about "integrating" all parts of yourself. When you forgive yourself for having a core wound in the first place, you clear the way for real, lasting transformation.
Targeting the Root, Not the Symptoms
Most traditional approaches to personal growth focus on behavioral change. "If you're anxious, try this breathing exercise." "If you're unhappy at work, change your career." While these are helpful, they often address the symptoms rather than the source.
Psychoastrology® allows us to target the root. For example, if you're struggling with work/life balance, we might look at your chart to see if your Chiron is in a sign that struggles with boundaries or the need for external validation. Instead of just giving you a time-management tip, we work on the underlying belief that "I am only worthy if I am producing."
When you heal that core belief, the symptoms (the overworking, the burnout) naturally begin to fall away. This is why many of my clients find that they achieve results much faster than they did in standard therapy. We aren't guessing; we're looking at the blueprint.
Practical Integration for Daily Life
It’s one thing to have a profound insight during a session; it’s another to live it out in your daily life. That’s why I emphasize "state practices." These are small, daily actions: like specific meditations, journaling prompts, or energy principles: that help you stay aligned with your healing journey.

Personal growth shouldn't feel like a chore. It should feel like a homecoming. Whether we are meeting via FaceTime, Zoom, or phone, the goal is always to give you tools that fit into your actual life. We blend:
- Mindset Work: Shifting the narrative you tell yourself.
- Intuitive Techniques: Tapping into your own inner wisdom.
- Energy Principles: Learning how to manage your emotional and spiritual energy throughout the day.
A New Way to Grow
If you are ready to stop the cycle of "trying harder" and start the journey of "healing deeper," Psychoastrology® offers a path forward. It’s a way to honor both your humanity and your divinity. It’s an invitation to see your wounds not as liabilities, but as the gateway to your greatest strengths.
Remember, you don't have to navigate this journey alone. Whether you’re dealing with PTSD, addiction, anxiety, or simply a desire for greater self-awareness, there is a compassionate, structured way to find your way back to balance.

Are you curious about what your own "map" looks like? I’d love to help you explore it. You can check out my services or book a session here to begin your own transformation.
Your wounds are not your identity: they are the starting point for your growth. Let's start the journey together.
Can Psychoastrology® Really Help You Navigate Anxiety? Find Out Here
Have you ever felt like your anxiety is a recurring guest who refuses to leave, no matter how many breathing exercises you try? You’re not alone. Many of us spend years in traditional talk therapy or trying various "hacks" to manage the fluttering in our chests and the racing thoughts in our minds. While these tools are incredibly valuable, sometimes we need to look deeper, not just at our thoughts, but at the very map of our souls.
This is where Psychoastrology® comes in. If you’re wondering whether this unique blend of psychology and astrology can actually help with anxiety, the answer is a resounding yes. It’s not just about reading a horoscope; it’s about using the stars as a diagnostic mirror to reveal the psychological patterns keeping you stuck.
In this post, we’re going to dive into how this integrative approach, pioneered by Lisa Tahir, LCSW, can help you uncover the root causes of your anxiety and provide a roadmap for lasting transformation.
What Exactly is Psychoastrology®?
At its heart, Psychoastrology® is a therapeutic bridge. It combines the grounded, evidence-based practices of psychotherapy with the ancient wisdom of natal astrology. In her work and her book, The Chiron Effect, Lisa Tahir explains that astrology serves as the diagnostic tool, while psychology and spirituality serve as the treatment.
Think of your birth chart as a cosmic blueprint. It shows where your strengths lie, but it also highlights your "raw nerves", the areas where you are most vulnerable. By identifying these areas, we can stop asking "What is wrong with me?" and start asking "What is the pattern here?"
For those struggling with anxiety, this shift is revolutionary. It moves us from a place of self-blame to a place of curious self-discovery.

The Core Wound: Meeting Your "Wounded Healer"
To understand how Psychoastrology® helps with anxiety, we have to talk about Chiron. In astrology, Chiron is known as the "Wounded Healer." It’s an asteroid that represents our deepest core wounds, the ones that seem to follow us from childhood into adulthood.
These wounds often manifest as:
- A fear of rejection or abandonment.
- A feeling of "not being enough" or being "too much."
- Persistent self-criticism or perfectionism.
- Hyper-vigilance and the need for control.
Do those sound familiar? That’s because these are also the primary drivers of anxiety. When our "Chiron wound" is triggered, our nervous system goes into high alert. We might not even realize that our current anxiety about a work deadline or a relationship conflict is actually an old wound being poked.
By finding where Chiron sits in your birth chart (its sign and house), you can identify the specific "orbit" of your anxiety. For example, if your Chiron is in Aries, your anxiety might center around your right to exist or take up space. If it’s in Libra, your anxiety might revolve around a fear of being alone or misunderstood in partnerships.
Bridging the Gap: From Insight to Action
While identifying the wound is the first step, Psychoastrology® doesn’t stop there. Insight alone doesn't cure anxiety; we need to change our internal state. This is where the integrative psychotherapy aspect of the work comes in.
Once we know the "why" behind the anxiety, we use psychological and spiritual tools to treat it. This includes:
1. Self-Empathy and Self-Forgiveness
Anxiety is often fueled by a harsh inner critic. We get anxious, then we get anxious about being anxious, and then we judge ourselves for it. Psychoastrology® teaches that healing begins with self-forgiveness. In The Chiron Effect, Lisa emphasizes that we must forgive ourselves for the patterns we fell into as a way to survive. When we soften the judgment, the anxiety loses its power.
2. State Practices
These are daily actions, like meditation, Reiki-infused affirmations, and intuitive techniques, that help regulate your nervous system. By consistently practicing these, you train your brain to return to a state of calm even when a trigger occurs.

3. Cognitive Reframing through the Stars
In traditional therapy, we work on "reframing" negative thoughts. In Psychoastrology®, we reframe our entire life narrative. Instead of seeing your sensitivity as a weakness that causes anxiety, you begin to see it as your greatest source of wisdom and healing. You transition from the "Wounded" to the "Healer."
Can You Really Do This Virtually?
One of the most common questions people ask is whether this kind of deep, integrative work can happen over a screen. The answer is yes. In fact, many people find that being in their own comfortable environment, their "safe space", allows them to open up more deeply.
Lisa Tahir offers FaceTime, Zoom, and phone sessions, making this unique blend of therapy accessible no matter where you are. Whether you're navigating a career transition, dealing with PTSD, or simply trying to find a better work/life balance, the virtual setting provides a container for this cosmic and psychological exploration.

Real-World Benefits for Anxiety Sufferers
So, what does this look like in practice? Here are a few ways readers have found relief:
- Understanding Triggers: Instead of feeling blindsided by a panic attack, you can say, "Ah, this is my Chiron in the 4th House being triggered. I’m feeling a lack of emotional safety. I know what to do."
- Reduced Shame: Realizing that your anxiety is part of a larger archetypal pattern helps remove the "shame" of having a mental health struggle.
- Structured Healing: The Chiron Effect provides specific affirmations and steps for each of the 12 zodiac signs, giving you a concrete "to-do" list for your emotional well-being.
- Empowerment: You move from being a victim of your circumstances to the architect of your own transformation.
If you’re interested in hearing more about these topics, you can check out the All Things Therapy podcast, where Lisa discusses emotional health, mindset, and personal transformation with a variety of experts.
Taking the First Step
Anxiety can feel like a heavy fog, but Psychoastrology® provides a lighthouse. By looking at the stars and looking within, you can find the path back to your true self. You don't have to navigate this journey alone.
Whether you're looking for couples therapy to navigate relationship anxiety or individual coaching to find your purpose, integrating the psychological with the spiritual can be the key that unlocks your healing.

Are you ready to explore your own "Chiron Effect"? The stars have already mapped out the wound: it's up to you to begin the healing.

Why Psychoastrology® Will Change the Way You View Your Mental Health
Have you ever felt like traditional therapy was missing a piece of the puzzle? Maybe you’ve spent years in talk therapy, identifying your triggers and working through your childhood, but there’s still a lingering sense that something deeper: something more soulful: hasn't been addressed.
As a therapist, I’ve seen this time and time again. We are complex beings. We aren’t just a collection of symptoms, diagnoses, or brain chemistry. We are also spiritual creatures, woven into the fabric of a much larger universe. This realization is what led me to develop Psychoastrology®, a unique, trademarked approach that bridges the gap between clinical psychology and the ancient wisdom of astrology.
If you’re looking for a way to transform your life, improve your work/life balance, and finally heal those stubborn "core wounds," Psychoastrology® might just be the shift you’ve been waiting for.
What is Psychoastrology®?
At its heart, Psychoastrology® is the intersection where your personal psychology meets your natal astrology. It’s not about "predicting the future" or checking your horoscope to see if you’ll find money on the sidewalk today. Instead, it’s a deep, diagnostic tool that helps us look at your birth chart: specifically the placement of Chiron: to understand your unconscious patterns.
In my work at Nolatherapy, I combine my background as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with these intuitive principles. While I use evidence-based methods like EMDR and cognitive reframing, I also incorporate the "map" provided by your astrological makeup. This allows us to get to the "why" behind your behaviors much faster than traditional methods alone.
Think of it as having a personalized manual for your soul. It’s about understanding the blueprint you were born with so you can navigate your life with more agency, empathy, and grace.
The Secret Ingredient: The Chiron Effect
If you’ve followed my work or listened to my podcast, All Things Therapy, you’ve likely heard me talk about Chiron. In astrology, Chiron is known as the "Wounded Healer." It’s a planetoid that represents our deepest, most persistent wounds: the ones that often feel like they’ll never go away.
In my book, The Chiron Effect, I dive deep into how this specific placement in your chart reveals where you feel most vulnerable. These are your "core wounds." They might manifest as:
- A feeling of never being "enough."
- Persistent anxiety about abandonment.
- A struggle to express your true voice.
- Difficulty with boundaries or self-worth.
When we identify your Chiron placement, we aren’t just labeling a problem. We are uncovering the very area where you have the greatest potential for healing and wisdom. By addressing these wounds through the lens of Psychoastrology®, we can move from a place of "What is wrong with me?" to "What is this wound trying to teach me?"

Moving From Shame to Empathy
One of the most transformative aspects of Psychoastrology® is how it shifts the narrative. In traditional mental health, we often focus heavily on pathology: what is "broken" or "disordered." While diagnosis can be helpful, it can also carry a heavy weight of shame.
Psychoastrology® replaces that shame with self-empathy. When you see that your struggles are part of a larger cosmic and psychological pattern, you can begin to forgive yourself. You realize that your "flaws" aren't signs of failure; they are the exact places where your growth is meant to happen.
I’ve found that when clients understand their astrological blueprint, they stop fighting against their nature and start working with it. This is essential for achieving a healthy work/life balance. Many of the high-achieving individuals I work with are burnt out because they are trying to fit into a mold that doesn't align with their spiritual or psychological design. Psychoastrology® gives you permission to be who you actually are.
The Power of Self-Forgiveness
You cannot heal what you do not forgive. This is a cornerstone of my practice. In our psychotherapy and counseling sessions, we work heavily on the art of self-forgiveness.
It sounds simple, but it’s one of the hardest things we’ll ever do. We are often our own harshest critics, replaying past mistakes like a broken record. Psychoastrology® provides the context needed for true forgiveness. When you understand the "why" behind your actions: through both a psychological and astrological lens: forgiveness becomes the natural next step. It’s the key that unlocks the door to personal transformation.

A Blend of Science and Spirit
You might be wondering: How does this actually work in a session?
I am a firm believer in the power of integrative therapy. My approach is 100% personalized. During our virtual sessions via Zoom or FaceTime, we might spend part of the time discussing a recent conflict at work using traditional cognitive tools. Then, we might pivot to look at how that conflict triggers your Chiron placement or how you can use meditation and energy principles to clear the resulting anxiety.
This "hybrid" model ensures that we aren't just talking about your problems: we are actively shifting your state of being. We use:
- Traditional Psychotherapy: To process trauma and change behavior.
- Psychoastrology®: To provide a map and a deeper sense of meaning.
- State Practices: Daily exercises, affirmations, and meditations tailored to your specific needs.
By blending the clinical with the intuitive, we create a path to healing that is both grounded and expansive.

Why This Matters Now
We live in a world that is increasingly fast-paced, digital, and often disconnected from our internal rhythms. Rates of anxiety and stress are at an all-time high. People are searching for something more than just a quick fix or a prescription. They are searching for meaning.
Psychoastrology® offers that meaning. It reminds us that we are part of a beautiful, orderly system. It teaches us that our pain has a purpose and that our healing is possible. Whether you are dealing with PTSD, addiction, relationship issues, or just a general sense of being "stuck," this approach offers a fresh perspective that honors your whole self: mind, body, and spirit.
Your Path to Transformation
The journey of self-discovery isn't always easy, but it is the most rewarding work you will ever do. Changing the way you view your mental health is the first step toward changing your entire life.
When you stop seeing yourself as "damaged" and start seeing yourself as a "wounded healer" in progress, everything shifts. You become more patient with yourself. You become more compassionate toward others. You start to make choices that align with your true purpose rather than your old wounds.

If you’re ready to explore how Psychoastrology® can change your life, I’m here to guide you. My practice is entirely virtual, making it easy to fit into your busy life, no matter where you are in the world.
You can learn more about my background, check out my book, or schedule a session to begin your own unique process of transformation. Let’s work together to turn your core wounds into your greatest strengths.
Healing is not just about getting "better"; it’s about becoming whole. And you, my friend, are already on your way.
Why Psychoastrology® Will Change the Way You View Your Mental Health
Have you ever felt like you’re doing everything “right” in your personal growth journey: journaling, meditating, maybe even traditional talk therapy: yet you keep bumping into the same emotional glass ceiling? You find yourself repeating the same relationship patterns, feeling the same inexplicable pangs of low self-esteem, or struggling to maintain a healthy work-life balance despite your best efforts.
If that sounds familiar, you aren’t alone. Many of us are looking for a deeper "why" behind our emotional landscape. While traditional psychology is an incredible tool for understanding our behavior and history, sometimes we need a broader lens to see the full picture of our soul’s blueprint.
That is where Psychoastrology® comes in.
As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with over 20 years of experience, I’ve seen how transformative it can be to bridge the gap between clinical psychotherapy and the ancient wisdom of astrology. Psychoastrology® isn’t about checking your daily horoscope for a lucky number; it’s about using the stars as a diagnostic map to uncover your core wounds and, more importantly, your path to healing them.
What Exactly is Psychoastrology®?
At its heart, Psychoastrology® is a trademarked modality I developed to combine the "what" of your psychological patterns with the "when" and "where" of your birth chart. It’s an integrative approach that brings together evidence-based techniques like EMDR and cognitive-behavioral insights with the symbolic language of the cosmos.
Think of your birth chart not as a fixed destiny, but as a map of your potential. In traditional therapy, we often spend months or even years trying to identify the root of a specific "block." By looking at your chart through a psychological lens, we can often pinpoint these areas much faster. We look at the planetary placements as archetypes: parts of your personality that are asking for attention, healing, or expression.
One of the most vital components of this work is a small but mighty celestial body known as Chiron.

Understanding The Chiron Effect: Healing Your Core Wounds
In Greek mythology, Chiron was known as the "Wounded Healer." He was a centaur who possessed great wisdom and healing abilities but was himself afflicted with a wound that would not heal. This archetype is a perfect metaphor for the human experience. We all carry a "core wound": a specific area of life where we feel fundamentally inadequate, abandoned, or "not enough."
In my book, The Chiron Effect, I dive deep into how your specific Chiron placement (based on your birth date, time, and location) acts as a pointer to this wound.
Why Does Identifying the Wound Matter?
When we don't understand our core wound, we operate from a place of "defensive living." We build walls to protect that sensitive spot, which often leads to anxiety, burnout, and relationship friction. By identifying your Chiron placement, we can see exactly where you tend to give your power away or where you feel the need to overcompensate.
For example:
- Chiron in Aries might manifest as a wound around your right to exist or take up space, leading to a struggle with self-assertion.
- Chiron in Libra might show up as a deep-seated fear of being alone, causing you to lose yourself in relationships.
- Chiron in Capricorn could look like a relentless drive for professional success as a way to "prove" your worth, leading to severe work/life balance issues.
Once we name the wound, the healing begins through empathy and self-forgiveness. Instead of judging yourself for being "broken," you begin to see that this wound was part of your curriculum. You learn to treat yourself with the same compassion you’d offer a dear friend.
A Bridge Between Science and Spirituality
I often get asked how an LCSW: someone grounded in clinical science: can also use astrology. To me, they are two sides of the same coin. Both are systems designed to help humans make sense of their lives and find meaning in their suffering.
In my practice at Nolatherapy, I blend these worlds. A session might start with discussing a recent conflict at work (the psychological/behavioral) and move into exploring how that conflict mirrors a pattern seen in your chart (the spiritual/astrological). We might then use EMDR techniques to process the somatic feelings associated with that pattern.
This holistic approach recognizes that you are not just a collection of symptoms or a brain in a jar. You are a soul having a human experience, and your mental health deserves a strategy that honors both your humanity and your divinity.

The Benefits: What Changes When You View Mental Health This Way?
When you start viewing your mental health through the lens of Psychoastrology®, several shifts occur:
- Reduced Shame: When you see that certain challenges are "written in the stars," you realize they aren't "your fault." They are simply the terrain you are here to navigate. This realization is often the first step toward true self-forgiveness.
- Accelerated Insight: We cut through the "noise" of everyday stress to find the signal. We stop treating the symptoms and start looking at the source.
- Improved Relationships: By understanding your own blueprint (and perhaps those of your loved ones), you develop a profound sense of empathy. You stop taking others' behaviors personally and start seeing the wounds they are operating from.
- Purpose-Driven Healing: Your "wound" often becomes your greatest "gift." Just as Chiron became a healer because of his pain, your greatest struggles often point toward your unique contribution to the world.
Healing in a Modern World: The Virtual Connection
One of the most beautiful aspects of the world we live in today is that healing is no longer confined to a physical office. Whether you are in New York, New Orleans, or halfway across the globe, you can access this integrative approach.
I offer virtual therapy and counseling sessions via Zoom, FaceTime, and phone. This allows you to engage in deep, transformative work from the safety and comfort of your own home. For many, this "virtual accessibility" removes the barrier to entry for therapy, making it easier to prioritize self-growth amidst a busy schedule.

Your Path Forward
Your mental health journey doesn't have to be a slog through the dark. It can be an exploration of your own inner cosmos. By combining the structure of psychology with the insight of Psychoastrology®, we can unlock doors that may have been closed for a lifetime.
