Self-care has become a bit of a buzzword lately, hasn’t it? We often think of it as a face mask on a Sunday night or a quick yoga session between meetings. And while those things are wonderful, true self-care, the kind that actually changes the trajectory of your life, goes much deeper. It’s about understanding the "why" behind your patterns, the "how" of your healing, and the "who" you are becoming.
In my practice, I’ve found that the most profound shifts happen when we bridge the gap between our internal psychology and the cosmic blueprint of our lives. This is what I call Psychoastrology®. It’s not just about what the stars say; it’s about how those celestial insights can be used as practical tools for emotional well-being and personal transformation.
If you’ve been looking for a way to make your self-care routine more meaningful, integrating Psychoastrology® might be the missing piece of the puzzle. Let’s dive into how you can start using this unique approach every single day.
What Exactly is Psychoastrology®?
Psychoastrology® is a therapeutic method I developed that sits right at the intersection of personal psychology and natal astrology. While traditional therapy focuses on cognitive behavioral shifts and emotional processing (which are vital!), Psychoastrology® adds a layer of cosmic context.
By looking at your natal chart, specifically the placement of the minor planet Chiron, we can identify your "core wounds." These are the tender spots in your psyche where you might feel "never enough," perpetually rejected, or constantly misunderstood. Once we identify these themes, we use psychological tools like self-empathy and self-forgiveness to heal them.
Essentially, Psychoastrology® gives us a map of your subconscious so we don't have to wander in the dark. It allows us to move from self-sabotage to self-mastery with more grace and less guesswork.
Meet Chiron: Your Wounded Healer

At the heart of my book, The Chiron Effect, is the planetoid Chiron. In mythology, Chiron was a centaur and a healer who, despite being able to heal others, could not heal his own wound. In astrology, your Chiron placement (the sign and house it was in when you were born) acts as a diagnostic tool.
It reveals the specific flavor of emotional pain you’re likely to carry. For example:
- Chiron in Aries might deal with a wound around identity and the right to exist.
- Chiron in Libra often struggles with wounds related to partnerships and finding balance.
- Chiron in Capricorn may feel a constant pressure to achieve to feel worthy.
Understanding your Chiron placement isn't about wallowing in pain. It’s about saying, "Oh, I see why I keep doing that. It’s not because I’m broken; it’s because I’m healing a specific part of my soul."
Morning Rituals: Setting the Cosmic Intent
Integrating Psychoastrology® into your daily life starts the moment you wake up. Instead of reaching for your phone and scrolling through news or social media, take five minutes to align with your personal energy.
1. Daily Alignment Affirmations
Based on your Chiron placement, create a morning affirmation that addresses your core wound with compassion. If you have a Chiron wound around "not feeling heard" (common in Gemini or the 3rd House), your morning affirmation might be: “My voice is valuable, and I deserve to be heard today.”
2. Check the Lunar Mood
While your natal chart is your permanent blueprint, the Moon moves through the signs every few days, influencing the collective emotional "weather." A quick check of the current Moon sign can help you manage your expectations for the day. Is the Moon in fiery Leo? It might be a great day for visibility. Is it in sensitive Cancer? You might need a little extra nurturing.
Daytime Mindfulness: Identifying Triggers in Real-Time
Your workday is often where your core wounds get "poked." A critical email from a boss or a disagreement with a partner can send you spiraling into old, defensive patterns. This is where Psychoastrology® becomes a powerful "micro-correction" tool.

When you feel that familiar sting of anxiety or inadequacy, try this three-step process:
- Pause and Label: Acknowledge the feeling. "I'm feeling triggered right now. This is my Chiron in [Your Sign] pattern of [Your Theme] showing up."
- Apply Self-Empathy: Instead of judging yourself for being "too sensitive," offer yourself the same kindness you’d give a friend. "Of course this feels hard. This is a tender spot for me."
- Choose a Corrective Action: What is the most self-empathic thing you can do in this moment? Maybe it’s taking a five-minute walk, setting a boundary, or simply breathing through the sensation without reacting.
By doing this, you are literally re-wiring your brain and healing those core wounds one small choice at a time. If you find yourself needing more support with these shifts, virtual therapy sessions can provide a safe space to work through these patterns in real-time.
Evening Reflection: The Power of Self-Forgiveness
As the day winds down, it’s important to "clear the slate." We often carry the day’s stressors and mistakes into our sleep, which can lead to burnout and restless nights.

In my podcast, All Things Therapy, I often talk about the importance of self-forgiveness. It is the "secret sauce" of Psychoastrology®.
Before you go to bed, spend a few minutes journaling or reflecting on your day through the lens of your Chiron themes.
- Where did I stay in my old pattern? (e.g., “I said yes to a project I didn't have time for because I wanted to be liked.”)
- Where did I try something new? (e.g., “I paused for ten seconds before responding to that stressful text.”)
- Forgiveness Practice: Explicitly forgive yourself for the moments you slipped back into old habits. Say to yourself, "I forgive myself for people-pleasing today. I am learning, and I will try again tomorrow."
This nightly ritual prevents "emotional debt" from building up. It allows you to wake up the next morning with a fresh perspective and a lighter heart.
A Practical Checklist for Your New Routine
Ready to start? Here is a simple checklist to help you weave Psychoastrology® into your daily life:
- Find Your Chiron Placement: Use a free natal chart calculator online (you'll need your birth date, time, and location).
- Identify Your Core Theme: Read up on what your Chiron sign means in The Chiron Effect.
- Select Your Affirmation: Pick one phrase that feels like a "balm" for your specific wound.
- Schedule a "Check-In": Set a reminder on your phone for mid-day to check your energy levels.
- Practice Self-Forgiveness: End every night by releasing the day's judgments.
Moving Forward With Compassion
Integrating Psychoastrology® isn't about achieving "perfection." It’s about achieving integration. It’s about bringing the parts of yourself that you’ve hidden or judged into the light of your own awareness.
When you begin to see your life through this lens, you realize that your greatest challenges are actually your greatest opportunities for growth. Your "wound" is the place where your wisdom is born.
If you’re ready to dive deeper into your personal blueprint, I’m here to help. Whether through individual counseling, my book, or my podcast, my goal is to provide you with the tools you need to live a life of balance, purpose, and profound self-love.
Feel free to schedule a session if you’d like to explore your Psychoastrology® chart together and create a customized self-care plan that truly works for you.
