Have you ever felt like you’re running in circles? Maybe you keep attracting the same type of draining relationship, or perhaps you find yourself hitting the same wall in your career over and over again. It’s frustrating, right? We often try to "think" our way out of these patterns, but the truth is, the root usually lies much deeper than our conscious minds.
Hi, I'm Lisa Tahir. In my years of practice as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and through my own personal journey, I’ve found that true transformation happens when we stop avoiding our pain and start understanding its origin. This is what I call The Chiron Effect.
In this guide, I want to walk you through how you can use the intersection of psychology and astrology to identify your core wounds and, more importantly, how to turn those wounds into your greatest strengths.
What is The Chiron Effect?
At its heart, The Chiron Effect is a framework for deep, soul-level healing. The name comes from the minor planet (or comet/asteroid) Chiron in astrology, known as the "Wounded Healer." In Greek mythology, Chiron was a centaur who was a master of the healing arts but could not heal his own wound.
In your astrological birth chart, Chiron’s placement represents your deepest wound, the place where you feel most broken or inadequate. But here’s the beautiful part: it also represents where you have the most potential to heal others and find your unique purpose.
By combining the diagnostic power of psychoastrology with the practical tools of clinical psychology and spirituality, we can unlock a roadmap for your personal evolution.

Understanding Your Core Wounds
We all carry "sacred wounds." These aren't just bad memories; they are energetic imprints that dictate how we see the world and ourselves. When these wounds are unaddressed, they become "magnetized," pulling the same painful experiences toward us like a moth to a flame.
Through The Chiron Effect, we identify 12 main areas of core wounding based on Chiron’s sign and house placement at the time of your birth. These areas include:
- Wounds of Worthiness: Feeling like you aren't "enough" no matter how much you achieve.
- Wounds of Communication: Feeling unheard or misunderstood by those closest to you.
- Wounds of Security: A constant underlying fear of loss or instability.
- Wounds of Empowerment: Feeling victimized by circumstances or unable to claim your own authority.
Understanding your specific placement isn't about labeling yourself as "damaged." It's about having a map. Once you know where the landmines are buried, you can stop stepping on them.
The Two-Stage Healing Process
Healing isn't a linear path, but I’ve found that it generally follows two major stages when working with Chiron.
Stage One: Recognition and Diagnosis
Most people spend their lives in a "fog," reacting to triggers without knowing why they are triggered. The first stage is about waking up. By looking at your Chiron placement, we decode the underlying factors that keep you stuck at a certain emotional frequency.
This recognition is incredibly liberating. When you realize, "Oh, I’m not 'crazy' or 'unlucky'; I’m reacting to a wound of abandonment located in my fourth house," you gain a sense of agency. You move from being a victim of your patterns to being an observer of them. If you’re curious about how this applies to your life, I often discuss these themes on my All Things Therapy podcast, where we dive deep into the psyche.
Stage Two: Transformation Through Empathy and Self-Forgiveness
This is where the real "depth-work" happens. It’s one thing to know you have a wound; it’s another to sit with it. This stage requires a blend of psychology and spirituality.
- Surrender: You have to stop running from the pain. In our culture, we are taught to distract ourselves with work, social media, or substances. Transforming the Chiron effect requires you to sit in the quiet and let the feelings of being "broken" arise.
- Self-Forgiveness: This is the "medicine." We often judge ourselves for having wounds in the first place. Self-forgiveness means letting go of the "shoulds" and offering yourself the same compassion you would give a dear friend.
- Personal Responsibility: While you may not be responsible for the original wound (especially if it happened in childhood), you are responsible for your healing.

Your Sacred Wound is Your Sacred Medicine
One of the most profound realizations you will have on this journey is that your wound actually contains your medicine.
Think about it: the person who has struggled most with feeling unloved often becomes the most compassionate and empathetic healer. The person who has struggled with finding their voice often becomes a powerful advocate for others.
When you heal a wound deeply, that area of your life becomes fertile soil. It’s no longer a place of lack; it becomes a place of wisdom. As you work through The Chiron Effect, you’ll find that your greatest gifts emerge from the very places you once tried to hide. You can learn more about this transformative process on my Chiron dedicated page.
Practical Tools for Daily Transformation
I didn't want The Chiron Effect to be just another theoretical book. I wanted it to be a manual for living. Here are a few ways to start integrating this healing today:
1. Meditation and Breathwork
Meditation isn't just about "emptying the mind." It's about creating a safe space for your inner child to speak. When you sit in stillness, you allow the "static" of daily life to fade, making it easier to hear the whispers of your core wounds.
2. Affirmations with Intention
In my book, I provide specific affirmations for each of the 12 Chiron placements. These aren't just "feel-good" phrases; they are designed to shift your energetic frequency. For example, if you have a wound in the area of value, an affirmation like "I am inherently worthy of love, regardless of my productivity," can be a powerful tool when repeated with feeling.
3. Reiki and Energetic Clearing
As a Reiki Master, I believe that our wounds live in our bodies as much as our minds. Incorporating energy work can help move the "stuck" emotions that talk therapy alone might not reach. If you're feeling physically weighed down by stress, you might find my article on how stress affects your body helpful.

Taking the Next Step in Your Journey
Healing is not a quick fix. It’s a lifestyle. It’s a commitment to yourself to stop living in the shadows of the past and start stepping into the light of your true potential.
If you feel called to go deeper, I invite you to join the thousands of others who have transformed their lives using these principles. Whether you are looking for individual zoom therapy to work through these patterns one-on-one or you want to dive into the self-study process, the resources are here for you.
The ultimate goal is to end your own suffering. You don’t have to stay stuck in the same cycles. You have the power to change your frequency, end self-sabotage, and create a life that feels authentic and free.
