Why Psychoastrology® Will Change the Way You Approach Personal Transformation
Have you ever felt like you’re stuck in a loop? Maybe you keep attracting the same type of unavailable partner, or perhaps you hit the same wall of self-doubt every time you’re about to level up in your career. You’ve done the work, you’ve read the books, and maybe you’ve even been in traditional talk therapy for years, yet that "thing," that core struggle, remains.
I want to introduce you to a concept that has transformed my clinical practice and the lives of thousands of my clients: Psychoastrology®.
As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, I’ve always been committed to evidence-based psychotherapy. But I also know that we are more than just our diagnoses or our childhood traumas. We are spiritual beings having a human experience. Psychoastrology® is the bridge I created to link these two worlds. It’s a method that uses the ancient wisdom of your natal chart as a diagnostic tool and the modern tools of psychology and spirituality as the prescription for healing.
What Exactly is Psychoastrology®?
At its heart, Psychoastrology® is the integration of astrology (specifically the placement of Chiron in your birth chart) with psychology, spirituality, and personal responsibility.
Think of it this way: traditional therapy is incredible at helping you process what happened to you. Astrology, when used correctly, is incredible at showing you why certain themes keep repeating and where your specific vulnerabilities lie.
In my work, I don’t use astrology to predict your future or tell you who to date based on your Sun sign. Instead, I use it as a "cosmic X-ray." By looking at your natal chart, specifically the minor planet Chiron, we can identify your "core wound", the primary area of sensitivity that drives your unconscious patterns.
The Power of the "Orbit"
One of the most important concepts in my book, The Chiron Effect, is the idea of the Orbit.
We all have an orbit. It’s the frequency of thoughts, feelings, and behaviors that we’ve grown accustomed to living within. Your orbit is mirrored by the people you date, the jobs you choose, and the way you treat yourself. If you are orbiting a frequency of "unworthiness," you will continually attract situations that confirm that you aren't enough.

Psychoastrology® helps you see the "gravity" of your core wound. When you identify where Chiron sits in your chart, you suddenly have a map of your most repetitive, painful cycles. You stop asking "What's wrong with me?" and start understanding, "Oh, this is the area where I am most sensitive, and this is the pattern I’ve been using to protect myself."
Meeting Chiron: The Wounded Healer
In Greek mythology, Chiron was a centaur known as the "Wounded Healer." He was a master of medicine and music but carried a physical wound that he could never fully heal himself. This archetype is a profound metaphor for our own lives.
Your Chiron placement indicates where you have a "raw nerve." There are 12 main areas of core wounding, ranging from issues of belonging and security to power and communication. When we ignore these wounds, they run the show from the basement of our subconscious. But when we bring them into the light through psychotherapy and counseling services, they become the source of our greatest wisdom and empathy.
By understanding your specific Chiron sign and house, we can decode the "why" behind your struggles. For example, a wound in the 1st House might manifest as a struggle with identity and self-image, while a wound in the 10th House might show up as a chronic feeling of being undervalued in your career.
The Prescription: Empathy and Self-Forgiveness
Identifying the wound is only half the battle. The other half is the "prescription." In Psychoastrology®, the medicine is Empathy and Self-Forgiveness.
Many of us are our own harshest critics. We judge ourselves for being "weak" or for "knowing better" but doing the same thing anyway. This judgment actually keeps us stuck in the old orbit. You cannot heal what you are busy judging.

Through my Zoom therapy sessions, I help clients shift from self-criticism to radical self-empathy. We look at the wounded parts of the self: the younger versions of you that did the best they could with the tools they had: and we offer them forgiveness. This isn't just "feel-good" talk; it’s a psychological rewiring. When you forgive yourself for your past patterns, you break the magnetic pull of the old orbit. You become "at choice" again.
Integrating Mind, Body, and Spirit
Personal transformation requires more than just intellectual understanding. You have to move the energy. That’s why my approach is integrative. Along with traditional cognitive techniques, I often incorporate:
- Meditation and Mindfulness: To help you stay present and notice when you are slipping back into an old orbit.
- Energy Principles and Reiki: To clear the emotional "residue" of old wounds. In my book, I include Reiki-charged affirmations specifically tailored to each Chiron placement to help anchor new, supportive belief systems.
- State Practices: Practical, daily actions you can take to reinforce your new frequency.

By combining these elements, we address the transformation on multiple levels: the mental, the emotional, and the energetic. This is how you achieve true work/life balance and self-growth. You stop fighting yourself and start working with your natural design.
Why This Changes Everything
The reason Psychoastrology® is so effective is that it gives you a framework for lifelong growth. It takes the "mystery" out of your misery. When you know where your sensitivities are, you can prepare for them. You can develop a toolkit that is specifically designed for your soul's map.
It also changes how you view others. When you understand that everyone is navigating their own "Chiron Effect," your relationships transform. You move from reactivity to compassion. You start to see the wounded child in the difficult boss or the defensive partner, and that understanding gives you the power to respond differently.
Ready to Change Your Orbit?
If you feel called to explore your own core wounds and step into a higher frequency of living, there are several ways we can work together:
- One-on-One Sessions: I offer personalized therapy via phone, FaceTime, and Zoom. This allows us to dive deep into your specific chart and history. You can schedule a session here.
- Read the Book: The Chiron Effect: Healing Our Core Wounds through Empathy and Self-Forgiveness is a comprehensive guide to finding your Chiron and applying these healing steps yourself.
- Listen and Learn: My podcast, All Things Therapy, features conversations with healers, authors, and experts on a wide range of topics related to human potential and emotional well-being.

Personal transformation doesn't have to be a slog through the dark. With the right map and the right tools, it can be an enlightening journey of self-discovery. You have the power to change your orbit. You have the power to heal. And I am here to help you every step of the way.
Blessings on your journey,
Lisa Tahir, LCSW
Psychoastrology® Matters: Why Your Natal Chart is the Key to Personal Transformation
Have you ever felt like you’re running in circles, hitting the same emotional walls over and over again? Maybe it’s a recurring struggle with self-worth, a pattern of choosing the wrong partners, or a constant sense of “not being enough” despite your achievements. We often look at these challenges through the lens of psychology alone: analyzing our childhoods or our cognitive habits: and while that is incredibly valuable, sometimes it feels like a piece of the puzzle is still missing.
That’s where Psychoastrology® comes in.
As a licensed therapist, I’ve spent years helping people navigate the complexities of the human mind. But I’ve also found that there is a profound, often untapped wisdom in the stars. By blending traditional psychotherapy with the ancient insights of astrology, we can create a much more comprehensive map for personal transformation. Your natal chart isn't just a collection of symbols; it’s a celestial blueprint of your psyche.
What Exactly is Psychoastrology®?
Psychoastrology® is a term I coined to describe the intersection of personal psychology and natal astrology. It’s a therapeutic approach that uses your birth chart as a diagnostic tool and psychological principles as the prescription for healing.
Think of it this way: psychology tells us how we are feeling and helps us process our emotions, but astrology can often tell us why certain themes are so persistent in our lives. When we combine the two, we stop guessing and start seeing the underlying architecture of our souls. This isn't about "predicting the future": it’s about understanding your present and reclaiming your power to shape what comes next.

The Natal Chart: Your Personal Roadmap
Most people know their "Sun sign": the sign the sun was in when they were born. While that’s a great start, it’s only the tip of the iceberg. Your full natal chart is a snapshot of the entire sky at the exact moment you took your first breath. It includes the positions of all the planets, the moon, and specific mathematical points that influence different areas of your life.
In my work at Nolatherapy, I use the natal chart to help clients identify their strengths, their challenges, and their soul’s purpose. It acts as a mirror, reflecting parts of ourselves that we might have hidden, ignored, or simply didn't have the language to describe. When you see your patterns laid out in your chart, it brings a sense of validation. You realize that you aren’t "broken": you are simply operating within a specific energetic framework that you can learn to navigate with more grace.
Meet Chiron: The Wounded Healer
The most transformative element I focus on in Psychoastrology® is a small but mighty planetoid called Chiron. In mythology, Chiron was a centaur who was a master healer but could not heal his own wound. In your natal chart, Chiron represents your "Core Wound": the place where you feel most vulnerable, sensitive, or "not enough."
I call this "The Chiron Effect." This placement points directly to the recurring unconscious patterns that keep us stuck. Whether it’s a wound related to abandonment, value, communication, or belonging, Chiron shows us where our magnetic pull toward pain lies.
But here’s the beautiful part: Chiron is also the key to your greatest strength. By facing these wounds with empathy and self-forgiveness, we transform our deepest pain into our most profound gift. This is the heart of The Chiron Effect work I do with clients worldwide.

The 12 Areas of Wounding
Depending on where Chiron falls in your chart (the sign and the house), it will manifest in different areas of your life. While we dive deep into these in my book and sessions, here are a few ways these wounds might show up:
- Sense of Self: Feeling like you don't have a right to exist or take up space.
- Security and Worth: Constantly worrying about money or feeling like your value is tied to your productivity.
- Communication: Fearing that your voice doesn't matter or that you’ll be misunderstood.
- Belonging: Feeling like a permanent outsider, even in your own family.
Identifying which of the 12 areas you are "orbiting" allows us to stop fighting the symptoms and start healing the source. It’s like finally getting the correct prescription after years of trying to treat a mystery ailment.
The Path to Transformation: Empathy and Self-Forgiveness
So, once we identify the wound through your natal chart, what do we do with it? This is where the psychology and spirituality blend together. The "prescription" in Psychoastrology® is a two-fold process: Empathy and Self-Forgiveness.
Many of us are our own harshest critics. We judge ourselves for our mistakes, our "failings," and our inability to "just get over it." But judgment is the enemy of growth. In my psychotherapy and counseling sessions, we work on replacing that judgment with radical empathy.
When you understand that your patterns are a result of a core wound: something you didn't choose but can choose to heal: the walls of shame start to crumble. From that place of empathy, we can move toward self-forgiveness. Forgiving yourself isn't about excusing bad behavior; it's about releasing the heavy weight of the past so you can finally move forward.

Practical Steps to Start Your Journey
Transformation doesn't happen overnight, but it does happen through consistent, intentional choices. Here is how you can begin using Psychoastrology® today:
- Find Your Chiron Placement: You can generate a free natal chart online or work with a professional to find where Chiron sits in your chart. This is the first step in decoding your core wound.
- Observe Your "Orbit": Start noticing the themes that repeat in your life. Do you always feel invisible in meetings? Do you feel a pang of anxiety whenever you think about your finances? These are clues to your Chiron placement.
- Practice Affirmations: Once you know your placement, use targeted affirmations to rewrite your internal narrative. If your wound is about worthiness, remind yourself daily: "I am inherently valuable, regardless of my output."
- Integrate Mindfulness: Use meditation and grounding techniques to stay present with your emotions rather than running from them. Healing requires us to be "in the room" with our pain.
Why This Matters Now
We are living in a time of great collective and individual shift. More than ever, people are seeking a deeper sense of meaning and a more authentic way of living. We are tired of "surface-level" fixes. We want to know our souls.
Psychoastrology® provides a bridge between the seen and the unseen, the clinical and the spiritual. It offers a path to work/life balance that isn't just about managing your calendar, but about aligning your external life with your internal truth.
Whether you are dealing with PTSD, anxiety, relationship issues, or a simple desire for self-growth, your natal chart is a treasure map waiting to be read. It’s time to stop looking outside for answers and start looking at the cosmic signature you were born with.

Psychoastrology® 101: A Beginner’s Guide to Mastering Your Emotional Well-being
Have you ever felt like you’re running in circles, repeating the same emotional patterns even though you’ve spent years trying to “fix” yourself? Maybe you’ve tried traditional therapy, or perhaps you’ve dabbled in astrology, looking for answers in the stars. But what if the key to your true transformation lived at the intersection of both?
Welcome to Psychoastrology®.
Developed by Lisa Tahir, LCSW, Psychoastrology® is a revolutionary therapeutic method that bridges the gap between modern psychology and natal astrology. It’s not about predicting the future or blaming your problems on a Mercury retrograde. Instead, it’s a powerful diagnostic tool that uses your birth chart to pinpoint core emotional wounds and then applies clinical psychological principles to heal them.
In this guide, we’ll break down the basics of Psychoastrology®, explore the pivotal role of "The Wounded Healer," and show you how to start mastering your emotional well-being today.
What is Psychoastrology®?
At its heart, Psychoastrology® is the marriage of the conscious mind and the unconscious soul.
In traditional psychotherapy and counseling services, we often look at childhood experiences, attachment styles, and cognitive patterns. In astrology, we look at the cosmic blueprint of the moment you were born. Psychoastrology® recognizes that these two are actually saying the same thing in different languages.
By looking at your natal chart: specifically the placement of a minor planet called Chiron: we can identify your "core wounds." These are the deep-seated themes of inadequacy, abandonment, or self-doubt that seem to follow you from relationship to relationship and job to job.
Once we use astrology to locate the wound, we use psychology to treat it. This involves empathy, self-forgiveness, and cognitive reframing. It’s a holistic approach that helps you move from a place of "What's wrong with me?" to "How can I heal this?"

Meet Chiron: The Wounded Healer
If you want to understand Psychoastrology®, you have to get to know Chiron.
In Greek mythology, Chiron was a centaur known as a wise teacher and healer who, ironically, could not heal his own chronic wound. In your astrological birth chart, Chiron represents your deepest emotional vulnerability: the place where you feel "broken" or "not enough."
However, Chiron is also known as the Wounded Healer. This means that your greatest pain is also the site of your greatest potential for mastery. When you learn to heal your own Chiron wound, you gain a unique wisdom that allows you to help others.
Identifying Your Core Wound
In Lisa Tahir's book, The Chiron Effect: Healing Our Core Wounds through Astrology, Empathy, and Self-Forgiveness, she outlines how Chiron’s placement in the twelve zodiac signs and houses reveals specific themes:
- Chiron in Aries: Wounds around identity and the right to exist.
- Chiron in Taurus: Wounds around self-worth and financial security.
- Chiron in Gemini: Wounds around communication and being heard.
- Chiron in Cancer: Wounds around belonging and emotional safety.
Knowing where your Chiron sits is like having a GPS for your subconscious. It explains why you feel triggered in certain situations and gives you a starting point for personal transformation.

The Path to Mastery: 3 Steps to Emotional Well-being
Mastering your emotional well-being through Psychoastrology® isn't about a "radical overhaul" overnight. It’s about gentle, consistent shifts. Here is the beginner's roadmap:
1. Recognition and Awareness
The first step is simply noticing your patterns. Do you always feel undervalued at work? Do you tend to choose partners who are emotionally unavailable? By looking at your Chiron placement, you can see if these are reflections of a core wound. Awareness is 50% of the battle. When you realize a "trigger" is just an old wound being poked, it loses some of its power over you.
2. Self-Empathy and Forgiveness
Lisa Tahir emphasizes that self-forgiveness is essential to true healing. We are often our own harshest critics, which only keeps the wound inflamed. Psychoastrology® teaches you to look at your "flaws" as part of a cosmic blueprint that is meant to be evolved. Instead of judging yourself for having a wound, you learn to have empathy for the version of you that was hurt.
3. Cognitive Reframing
Once you’ve identified the wound and offered yourself empathy, you can start to change the "story." This is where the psychology comes in. If your Chiron in Taurus tells you "I will never be financially stable," you can use cognitive tools to reframe that belief. You start to experiment with new behaviors: small, manageable changes that prove the old story wrong.
Bringing It Into Daily Life: Work, Love, and Balance
How does this actually help you on a Tuesday morning when you're stressed about a deadline?
Psychoastrology® provides a framework for work/life balance. When you understand your emotional blueprint, you stop wasting energy on "shadow boxing" with your insecurities.
- In Relationships: You stop expecting your partner to heal a wound that only you can heal. This leads to healthier, more conscious couples' dynamics.
- In Career: You recognize when your "imposter syndrome" is actually just your Chiron placement acting out, allowing you to move forward with confidence despite the fear.
- In Self-Care: You begin to prioritize meditation, energy principles, and intuitive techniques because you realize that your emotional health is the foundation of your entire life.

Why Virtual Therapy Works for Psychoastrology®
In today's fast-paced world, finding time for deep soul-work can be challenging. That’s why Lisa Tahir offers virtual accessibility through phone, FaceTime, and Zoom sessions.
The beauty of virtual therapy is that it allows you to stay in your own "sacred space": your home: while doing the vulnerable work of exploring your psyche. It removes the barrier of a commute and allows for a more personalized, intimate experience. Whether you’re dealing with PTSD, anxiety, or simply a desire for self-growth, the blend of traditional therapy and intuitive Psychoastrology® can be accessed from anywhere in the world.
Continue Your Journey
If you’re ready to dive deeper into these topics, there are several ways to stay connected and continue your learning:
- Listen to the Podcast: Tune into All Things Therapy, where Lisa interviews change-makers and discusses emotional health, spirituality, and personal transformation.
- Read the Book: Pick up a copy of The Chiron Effect to find your specific Chiron placement and start the self-healing process.
- Book a Session: If you’re ready for personalized guidance, you can schedule a session to work directly with Lisa.
Mastering your emotional well-being is a lifelong journey, but with the right map, you don’t have to walk it alone. Psychoastrology® offers that map: a guide that respects both your human experience and your spiritual essence.

Ready to change your orbit? Your healing begins with the courage to look within. By blending the wisdom of the stars with the science of the mind, you can finally break the patterns that hold you back and step into the life you were meant to lead.
Can Psychoastrology® Really Help You Achieve Personal Transformation? Find Out Here
Have you ever felt like you’ve done "all the things" to heal, yet you keep bumping into the same invisible walls? Maybe you’ve been to traditional therapy, read the self-help books, and practiced your affirmations, but that one nagging feeling: of not being enough, of being misunderstood, or of repeating the same relationship patterns: just won’t budge.
If you’re nodding your head, you’re not alone. Often, the missing piece isn’t more "work"; it’s a different lens.
That’s where Psychoastrology® comes in.
As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with over 20 years of experience, I’ve seen how traditional psychotherapy provides an incredible foundation for growth. But I also discovered that when we weave in the ancient wisdom of astrology: specifically the placement of Chiron in your natal chart: we unlock a roadmap to transformation that is deeply personal and incredibly fast-acting.
In this post, we’re going to dive into what Psychoastrology® actually is, how it works, and how it can help you finally shift those stubborn patterns to achieve the life of peace and abundance you deserve.
What Exactly is Psychoastrology®?
The term might sound a bit "out there" at first, but at its heart, Psychoastrology® is a grounded, integrative method. It’s the bridge between the psychological (our thoughts, behaviors, and attachment styles) and the astrological (the energetic blueprint of our lives).
Unlike popular "horoscope" astrology that tries to predict the future, Psychoastrology® uses your birth chart as a diagnostic tool. Think of it as a cosmic X-ray. It reveals the unconscious patterns that keep you stuck in a specific "orbit": whether that’s an orbit of scarcity, anxiety, or unfulfilling relationships.
By identifying these patterns through your natal chart, we can bring them into the light of psychotherapy. We aren't just looking at the stars; we are looking at you through the stars to find the quickest path to healing.
Meet Chiron: The Key to Your Core Wounds
At the center of my work is a small but mighty celestial body known as Chiron. In mythology, Chiron was the "Wounded Healer": a centaur who, despite being a master of healing arts, could not heal his own wound.
In Psychoastrology®, your Chiron placement (the sign and house it occupied when you were born) represents your core wound. This is the place where you feel most sensitive, vulnerable, or "broken." It’s often the source of your deepest insecurities, such as:
- "I’m not worthy of love."
- "I have to be perfect to be seen."
- "I don’t belong anywhere."
- "My voice doesn't matter."
These aren't just "sad feelings"; they are the blueprints for how you navigate the world. They affect your career choices, your relationships, and even your physical health.

Identifying the Patterns (Self-Awareness)
The first step in any transformation is awareness. You can’t change what you can’t see.
In a Psychoastrology® session, we look at your Chiron placement to understand the "story" you’ve been telling yourself. For example, if your core wound is centered around recognition, you might find yourself constantly overworking, trying to prove your value to a boss or partner who never seems to notice.
When we identify this pattern, the shift begins. You realize that your exhaustion isn't just about a heavy workload; it’s about a core wound trying to be healed through external validation. Once you see the pattern, you are no longer its victim. You are "at choice."
The Power of Empathy and Self-Forgiveness
This is where the "Psycho" part of the method truly shines. Knowing you have a wound isn't enough; you have to treat it with the right medicine. In my book, The Chiron Effect, I talk extensively about the two most powerful tools for transformation: Empathy and Self-Forgiveness.
We often treat our wounds with shame. We tell ourselves we should be "over it" by now or that we’re "too sensitive." But shame only keeps the wound open.
Through the lens of Psychoastrology®, we learn to view our wounds with radical empathy. We understand that our patterns were actually survival mechanisms we created to protect ourselves when we were younger. When we offer ourselves forgiveness for the "mistakes" we made while trying to survive, the wound begins to close.

Like the Japanese art of Kintsugi: where broken pottery is repaired with gold: our healed wounds become the most beautiful and strongest parts of us. They become our "superpowers." A person who has healed a wound of "not belonging" often becomes the most inclusive and welcoming leader.
Achieving Real-World Transformation
How does this look in your day-to-day life? Personal transformation isn't just a "vibe"; it’s a measurable change in how you live.
1. Work/Life Balance
When you heal the core wound that drives you to over-achieve for validation, you finally give yourself permission to rest. You stop "performing" and start living. You find that you can be successful without being burnt out.
2. Relationship Shifts
Many of our relationship struggles are just two sets of core wounds bumping into each other in the dark. By understanding your Chiron placement, you can stop reacting from your wounds and start responding from your heart. This is a game-changer for couples therapy and even for those seeking to attract a healthy partner.
3. Financial Abundance
Believe it or not, our relationship with money is often tied to our sense of worthiness. Psychoastrology® helps clear the psychological "clutter" that tells you that you aren't allowed to be prosperous. When you forgive yourself for past financial mistakes and recognize your inherent value, the "orbit" of scarcity begins to shift toward abundance.

The Ultimate Guide to Psychoastrology®: Everything You Need to Succeed in Personal Growth
Have you ever felt like you’re stuck in a loop? Maybe you keep dating the same type of person who isn't right for you, or perhaps you hit a ceiling in your career every time you're about to level up. We often call these "patterns," but sometimes they feel more like a magnetic pull: a force that draws us back into the same old stories, no matter how hard we try to write a new chapter.
If you’ve explored traditional therapy and still feel like there’s a missing piece to the puzzle of why you do what you do, you’re in the right place. Welcome to the world of Psychoastrology®.
This isn't just about reading your horoscope in the back of a magazine. It’s a deep, transformative bridge between clinical psychology and natal astrology. Created by Lisa Tahir, LCSW, Psychoastrology® is a proprietary method designed to help you identify your core wounds, understand your unique "orbit," and finally break free into the life you were meant to live.
In this guide, we’re going to dive deep into how this blend of spirituality and science works, and how you can use it to achieve unprecedented personal growth.
What Exactly is Psychoastrology®?
At its heart, Psychoastrology® is the intersection where our personal psychology meets our natal astrology. While traditional psychotherapy focuses on your history, family dynamics, and cognitive patterns, astrology provides a symbolic map of your soul’s blueprint.
By looking at your natal chart: specifically the placement of the minor planet Chiron: we can identify the "archetypal" areas where you are most likely to experience vulnerability or wounding. But here’s the kicker: Psychoastrology® doesn't stop at the "why."
Lisa Tahir uses astrology as a diagnostic tool, but the prescription is rooted in psychology, spirituality, and personal responsibility. It’s about taking the insights from the stars and applying them through practical, grounded therapeutic techniques like Zoom therapy and counseling to create real-world change.

Understanding "The Chiron Effect"
If you’ve followed Lisa’s work or read her book, The Chiron Effect: Healing Our Core Wounds through Astrology, Empathy, and Self-Forgiveness, you’re familiar with the concept of the "wounded healer."
In Greek mythology, Chiron was a centaur known for his wisdom and healing abilities, yet he could not heal his own chronic wound. In Psychoastrology®, Chiron represents your core wound: the place where you feel most "not enough," rejected, or raw.
The Magnetic Pull of Wounding
Lisa describes The Chiron Effect as a magnetic pull. Much like a planet orbits a sun, we often "orbit" our wounds. These wounds cluster around specific issues:
- The Orbit: The recurring pattern (e.g., "I always get passed over for promotions").
- The Frequency: The habitual emotional state or "vibe" we carry because of that wound (e.g., resentment or low self-worth).
When we identify where Chiron sits in your chart, we aren't just looking at "bad luck." We are identifying the specific frequency you are vibrating at. To change your life, you have to change your orbit. You have to shift your frequency from one of "wounding" to one of "wisdom."
The 12 Areas of Core Wounding
In the framework of Psychoastrology®, there are 12 main areas where these wounds manifest, corresponding to the 12 signs of the zodiac and houses in your chart. Each one tells a different story:
- Aries (The House of Self): Wounds around identity and the right to exist.
- Taurus (The House of Value): Wounds around self-worth and financial security.
- Gemini (The House of Communication): Wounds around being heard and understood.
- Cancer (The House of Home): Wounds around emotional safety and belonging.
- Leo (The House of Creativity): Wounds around being seen and recognized.
- Virgo (The House of Health): Wounds around perfectionism and "being fixed."
- Libra (The House of Partnership): Wounds around relationships and codependency.
- Scorpio (The House of Transformation): Wounds around power, trust, and intimacy.
- Sagittarius (The House of Philosophy): Wounds around truth and freedom.
- Capricorn (The House of Structure): Wounds around achievement and authority.
- Aquarius (The House of Community): Wounds around belonging and individuality.
- Pisces (The House of Spirituality): Wounds around boundaries and escaping reality.
By pinpointing which of these areas resonates with your life, you gain a massive shortcut in your healing journey. Instead of spending years wandering through general talk therapy, you can go straight to the root of the "magnetic pull."
From Insight to Action: The "Prescription"
Identifying a wound is only half the battle. You can know you have a wound and still stay stuck in it for decades. This is where Lisa Tahir’s unique approach sets itself apart.
Healing in Psychoastrology® requires three key ingredients:
1. Empathy and Self-Forgiveness
You cannot heal what you are judging. Most of us are incredibly hard on ourselves for our patterns. We feel shame for our "failures." In Lisa’s methodology, empathy is the solvent that dissolves the glue of the wound. Self-forgiveness is the foundation upon which you build your new life.
2. State Practices and Affirmations
Lisa often incorporates affirmations and "state practices" that are infused with Reiki energy principles. These aren't just "feel-good" quotes; they are specific linguistic shifts designed to rewire your subconscious mind. When you change the way you speak to yourself, you change the "frequency" of your orbit.
3. Personal Responsibility
This is the "adulting" part of therapy. While the stars may show the map, you are the one driving the car. Psychoastrology® empowers you to move from being a victim of your "fate" to being the architect of your future. By taking responsibility for your choices and your healing, you reclaim the power that the core wound originally took from you.

How to Succeed in Your Personal Growth Journey
Ready to start applying Psychoastrology® to your own life? Here is the "Ultimate Guide" checklist for succeeding in your personal transformation:
- Get Your Chart: You don't need to be an expert. You just need to know where Chiron was at the moment of your birth.
- Identify Your Core Wound: Read The Chiron Effect or listen to the All Things Therapy podcast to see which area of wounding feels like home.
- Notice the Orbit: For the next week, simply observe your patterns. When you feel triggered, ask yourself: "Which core wound is being activated right now?" Awareness is the first step toward shifting your frequency.
- Practice Micro-Shifts: You don't have to change your whole life in a day. Use small affirmations. If your wound is in Taurus (Value), a micro-shift might be saying, "I am worthy of receiving good things," every time you pay a bill.
- Seek Integrative Support: Sometimes the "magnetic pull" is too strong to fight alone. This is where professional services and counseling come in. Working with a therapist who understands both the psychological and spiritual dimensions of your chart can accelerate your growth tenfold.
The Virtual Edge: Healing from Anywhere
One of the greatest benefits of the modern era is that you don't have to live in a specific city to access this kind of specialized care. Lisa Tahir offers sessions via Phone, FaceTime, and Zoom, making highly personalized therapy accessible no matter where you are.

Why Psychoastrology® Will Change the Way You Manage Anxiety
We’ve all been there, that tight feeling in the chest, the racing thoughts at 3:00 AM, and the nagging sense that something just isn't right. Anxiety is one of the most common challenges we face today, and while traditional therapy is an incredible tool, sometimes it feels like we’re only scratching the surface. We manage the symptoms, we learn to breathe through the panic, but the underlying "why" remains a mystery.
That’s where Psychoastrology® comes in.
If you’ve been searching for a way to move beyond just "coping" and start truly healing, this unique blend of psychology and astrology might be the missing piece of your puzzle. As a therapist, I’ve seen how integrating these two worlds can unlock a level of self-awareness that traditional methods alone sometimes miss.
What is Psychoastrology®?
At its core, Psychoastrology® is the intersection where your personal psychology meets your natal astrology. It’s a term I coined to describe a therapeutic approach that uses your birth chart, specifically the placement of the minor planet Chiron, as a diagnostic tool to identify your "core wounds."
Think of your birth chart not as a fixed destiny, but as a map of your internal landscape. While traditional psychology focuses on your childhood, environment, and cognitive patterns, Psychoastrology® adds a layer of spiritual context. It helps us see the recurring themes in your life not as "flaws," but as specific areas of sensitivity that are ripe for transformation.
By looking at your Psychoastrology® profile, we can pinpoint where you are most likely to feel triggered, rejected, or anxious. This isn't about predicting the future; it's about understanding your present so you can change your future.

The Chiron Effect: Finding the "Why" Behind the Anxiety
In my book, The Chiron Effect: Healing Our Core Wounds through Astrology, Empathy, and Self-Forgiveness, I dive deep into the role of Chiron, known in mythology as the "Wounded Healer." In your natal chart, Chiron represents the area where you carry a deep, often unconscious wound.
For many of us, this wound is the primary driver of our anxiety.
For example, if your Chiron is in a sign that relates to communication, your anxiety might manifest as a constant fear of being misunderstood or "canceled." If it’s in a sign related to security, your anxiety might center around money or physical safety, even when you are objectively "fine."
When we identify the Chiron Effect in your life, the anxiety stops feeling like a random glitch in your brain. It starts to make sense. And once it makes sense, we can actually do something about it.
Why This Changes Everything for Anxiety Management
Standard anxiety management often focuses on "top-down" approaches, changing your thoughts to change your feelings. While CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) is highly effective, it can sometimes feel like a game of Whac-A-Mole. You knock down one anxious thought, and another one pops up.
Psychoastrology® offers a "bottom-up" and "inside-out" approach. It changes the way you manage anxiety in three major ways:
1. It Removes the Shame
One of the biggest contributors to anxiety is the shame of having anxiety. We tell ourselves we should be "over it" by now. Psychoastrology® frames your struggles as part of a larger, soulful journey. You aren't "broken"; you are navigating a specific energetic theme that was present from the moment you were born.
2. It Provides a Specific Roadmap
Instead of broad "stress-relief" techniques, we can tailor your healing to your specific placement. If your core wound is about "not being enough," your path to peace will look very different than someone whose wound is about "not being safe." This personalization is a hallmark of the services I provide.
3. It Integrates Spirituality and Science
We are whole beings. We have minds, but we also have spirits. By blending evidence-based psychotherapy with intuitive principles, we address the anxiety on every level, mental, emotional, and energetic.

From Coping to Transforming: The Power of Self-Forgiveness
The bridge between recognizing your wound and healing your anxiety is self-forgiveness.
In my practice, I’ve found that anxiety is often the sound of our internal critic screaming for protection. We’ve adopted certain "survival patterns" to cope with our core wounds, and then we judge ourselves for those patterns. We might procrastinate, people-please, or withdraw: and then we feel anxious about our procrastination, our people-pleasing, or our isolation.
Psychoastrology® invites you to forgive yourself for those survival patterns. You did the best you could with the tools you had. By using affirmations infused with Reiki energy and focusing on empathy, we can soften the edges of that internal critic. When the critic softens, the anxiety loses its fuel.
Practical Steps to Start Your Journey
You don't need to be an astrology expert to start using these principles. Here are a few ways to begin shifting your relationship with anxiety today:
- Locate Your Chiron: You can find your Chiron placement by using a free birth chart calculator online. Once you know the sign and house, you can read more about what that signifies in The Chiron Effect.
- Observe the Pattern: The next time you feel a wave of anxiety, ask yourself: "Does this feel like my core wound is being poked?" Simply labeling it can lower the intensity.
- Practice Empathy: Talk to your anxious self the way you would talk to a dear friend. Instead of "Why am I like this?", try "I see you’re feeling scared right now, and that’s okay. We’re safe."
- Seek Integrative Support: Sometimes we need a guide to help us navigate these deep waters. Whether through Zoom therapy or in-person sessions, having a professional who understands both the psyche and the spirit can make all the difference.

A Compassionate Path Forward
Anxiety doesn't have to be your permanent roommate. It is a signal, a teacher, and often, a doorway to your greatest transformation. By embracing the principles of Psychoastrology®, you stop fighting against yourself and start working with your unique design.
If you’re ready to explore how your birth chart and your psychology can work together to bring you peace, I’m here to help. From one-on-one sessions to the insights found in my podcast, All Things Therapy, there are so many ways to begin this healing work.
You deserve to feel balanced, worthy, and whole. Let’s start the journey together.
Why Everyone Is Talking About Psychoastrology® for Emotional Health (And You Should Too)
Have you ever felt like you’re stuck in a loop? Maybe you keep dating the same "type" of person who isn't good for you, or perhaps you find yourself hitting a wall every time you try to level up in your career. We’ve all been there. Usually, we turn to traditional therapy to talk through our past, or we check our horoscopes to see if Mercury is in retrograde again.
But what if you could do both at the same time?
That’s exactly why everyone is talking about Psychoastrology®. Created by Lisa Tahir, LCSW, this unique approach is changing the game for emotional health. It’s not just about where the stars were when you were born; it’s about using that celestial map to unlock deep, psychological healing.
In this post, we’re going to dive into why this blend of psychology and astrology is becoming the go-to for people seeking transformation, and why you might want to consider it for your own journey.
What Exactly is Psychoastrology®?
At its core, Psychoastrology® is the intersection of personal psychology and natal astrology. While traditional psychotherapy focuses on your upbringing, attachment styles, and cognitive patterns, Psychoastrology® uses your birth chart as a diagnostic tool to pinpoint exactly where those patterns began.
Lisa Tahir, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 20 years of experience, realized that while talk therapy is incredibly effective, adding the layer of astrology allows for a "fast-track" to the soul. It provides a language for things that are often hard to put into words: those deep-seated feelings of "not being enough" or the invisible barriers we put up around our hearts.
By looking at your chart through a clinical lens, Lisa helps you see that your challenges aren't just "bad luck." They are often tied to specific "core wounds" that are actually opportunities for your greatest healing.

The Heart of the Practice: The Chiron Effect
If you’ve spent any time on the Nolatherapy website, you’ve probably seen the word Chiron pop up quite a bit. In astrology, Chiron is known as the "Wounded Healer." It’s a minor planet (or asteroid) that represents our deepest vulnerabilities.
In her book, The Chiron Effect: Healing Our Core Wounds through Astrology, Empathy, and Self-Forgiveness, Lisa explains that where Chiron sits in your birth chart reveals the specific area where you feel most wounded. It could be a wound of abandonment, a wound of inadequacy, or even a wound of "not belonging."
The magic of Psychoastrology® is that it doesn't just stop at identifying the wound. It uses that knowledge to foster self-empathy and self-forgiveness. Instead of judging yourself for your struggles, you begin to see them as part of your unique blueprint. This shift in perspective is where the real healing begins.
Why This Isn’t Just Your Morning Horoscope
Let’s be real: astrology gets a bit of a "woo-woo" reputation sometimes. We’ve all seen the memes about "typical Scorpios" or "classic Geminis." But Psychoastrology® is different. Because Lisa is a highly trained therapist, she brings a level of clinical groundedness to the practice that you won't find in a standard astrology reading.
When you book a session, you aren't just getting a reading; you’re getting a therapeutic intervention. Lisa uses integrative techniques like meditation, energy principles, and intuitive coaching to help you process what your chart reveals. It’s a holistic approach that respects both the science of the mind and the mystery of the spirit.

4 Ways Psychoastrology® Can Transform Your Emotional Health
So, why are so many people making the switch to this integrative approach? Here are four major benefits:
1. Rapid Self-Awareness
Traditional therapy can take months to uncover certain core triggers. Psychoastrology® can often highlight them in the very first session. By looking at your Chiron placement and other planetary aspects, you get an immediate "map" of your internal landscape. This clarity allows you to focus your energy on the areas that actually need healing.
2. Breaking the "Same Old" Patterns
Whether it’s in your relationships or your relationship with money and success, we all have repeating cycles. Psychoastrology® helps you understand the source of these cycles. Once you see the "why" behind your behavior, you gain the power to choose a different path.
3. Cultivating Radical Self-Forgiveness
Many of us are our own harshest critics. We carry guilt for past mistakes or shame for our perceived flaws. Through the lens of the "Wounded Healer," we learn that our wounds are not our fault. They are parts of us that require extra love and attention. This path to self-forgiveness is a cornerstone of Lisa’s work and is essential for long-term emotional health.
4. Empowerment and "At-Choice" Living
One of Lisa’s favorite phrases is being "at choice." Psychoastrology® isn't about fate; it’s about agency. It gives you the tools to stop reacting to life and start responding to it. You learn that while you may have been dealt a certain hand (your natal chart), you are the one who decides how to play it.

Healing from Anywhere: The Power of Virtual Therapy
In today’s fast-paced world, finding time for self-care can be tough. One of the reasons Psychoastrology® is gaining such a following is its accessibility. Lisa offers all of her services: from traditional counseling to deep-dive Psychoastrology® sessions: via Zoom and FaceTime.
Whether you’re dealing with anxiety, PTSD, or just a general sense of feeling "stuck," you can access high-level care from the comfort of your own home. This virtual accessibility makes it easier for busy professionals, parents, and anyone looking for a more flexible way to prioritize their mental health.
Dive Deeper with "All Things Therapy"
If you're curious about these topics but aren't quite ready for a one-on-one session, Lisa’s podcast, All Things Therapy, is an incredible resource. She interviews experts in psychology, spirituality, and personal transformation, bringing the concepts of Psychoastrology® to life through real-world conversations. It’s a great way to start shifting your mindset and soaking in the compassionate, insightful energy that Lisa brings to all of her work.

Are You Ready to Explore Your Blueprint?
Emotional health isn't just about the absence of illness; it’s about the presence of peace, purpose, and self-love. If you feel like you’ve reached the limit of what traditional methods can offer, it might be time to look to the stars: and your soul: through Psychoastrology®.
Healing is a journey, not a destination. And sometimes, having a map that includes both your psychology and your astrology can make that journey a whole lot clearer (and a lot more beautiful).
If you’re ready to discover your own "Chiron Effect" and start your path toward radical self-forgiveness, you can book a session with Lisa Tahir here.
Your future self will thank you for taking this step today.
Why Psychoastrology® Will Change the Way You Approach Personal Growth
Have you ever felt like you’re doing all the "right" things for your mental health: going to therapy, journaling, practicing mindfulness: but you still keep hitting the same invisible wall? Maybe you find yourself dating the same type of person who isn't right for you, or perhaps you feel a persistent sense of "not being enough" despite your professional successes.
Traditional talk therapy is an incredible tool for understanding our past and managing our behaviors. But sometimes, we need a different kind of map to navigate the deeper, more spiritual layers of our existence. That’s where Psychoastrology® comes in.
Developed by Lisa Tahir, LCSW, Psychoastrology® is a unique, integrative method that bridges the gap between Western psychology and the ancient wisdom of astrology. It’s not about predicting your future or telling you who you’re going to marry; it’s about providing a diagnostic blueprint for your soul’s healing.
In this post, we’re going to dive into why this approach is a total game-changer for personal growth and how it can help you finally break those stubborn patterns that have been holding you back.
What Exactly is Psychoastrology®?
At its core, Psychoastrology® is the intersection of clinical psychotherapy and natal astrology. While psychology gives us the framework to understand our cognitive patterns, attachment styles, and family dynamics, astrology provides a symbolic language that speaks to our higher purpose and our inherent challenges.
Think of your birth chart as a snapshot of the sky at the exact moment you were born. In the world of Psychoastrology®, we don’t just look at your Sun sign to see if you’re "stubborn" or "emotional." Instead, we use the chart as a diagnostic tool to identify where your energy might be blocked.
Specifically, we look at the placement of Chiron, a minor planet known as the "Wounded Healer." This placement reveals your "core wounds": those deep-seated vulnerabilities that often drive our most self-sabotaging behaviors. By combining this astrological insight with evidence-based psychological techniques, we can create a highly personalized path to transformation.

The Power of the "Chiron Effect"
In her book, The Chiron Effect: Healing Our Core Wounds through Astrology, Empathy, and Self-Forgiveness, Lisa Tahir explains that our wounds aren't defects. They are actually doorways.
When we identify where Chiron sits in our chart, we identify a specific area of life where we feel fundamentally "broken." This could manifest as:
- Wounds of Worth: Feeling like you always have to earn love or success.
- Wounds of Communication: Feeling like your voice doesn't matter or you aren't heard.
- Wounds of Control: A deep need to manage everything around you to feel safe.
The magic happens when we stop trying to "fix" the wound and start applying empathy and self-forgiveness to it. In Psychoastrology® sessions, we use this knowledge to bypass months of "digging" in traditional therapy. We go straight to the root of the pattern, allowing for a much faster and more profound shift in perspective.
3 Reasons Psychoastrology® Changes Your Approach to Growth
1. It Moves You from Shame to Clarity
Most of us carry a lot of shame about our struggles. We think, "Why am I still anxious about this?" or "Why can't I just be more confident?"
When you see your struggles mapped out in your astrological chart, it shifts the narrative. You realize that these challenges are part of your "soul’s curriculum." It’s not that something is wrong with you; it’s that you have a specific area of sensitivity that requires extra care. This clarity instantly reduces shame and opens the door for real healing.
2. It Identifies the "Why" Behind Repeating Patterns
Ever feel like you’re stuck in a "Groundhog Day" loop? Psychoastrology® highlights the exact themes that keep popping up in your life. By understanding the astrological "why," we can apply psychological "how-tos" to change the outcome.
For example, if your Chiron is in a sign that struggles with boundaries, we won't just talk about why you have no boundaries; we’ll use the astrological archetype to find the specific strengths you can use to build them. It’s a holistic approach that honors your whole self: spirit and mind.
3. It Prioritizes Self-Forgiveness as a Practice
Healing isn't just an intellectual exercise. You can know why you do something and still keep doing it. Lisa’s approach emphasizes that empathy and self-forgiveness are the active ingredients in change. Psychoastrology® gives you a framework to be kinder to yourself. When you understand the magnitude of the wound you’ve been carrying, it becomes much easier to forgive yourself for the coping mechanisms you developed to survive it.

Beyond the Couch: Accessible, Virtual Healing
One of the biggest hurdles to personal growth is accessibility. Life is busy, and finding a therapist who "gets" both the clinical side and the spiritual side can be tough.
That’s why Lisa offers her services globally through Zoom therapy and FaceTime sessions. Whether you’re looking for couples therapy to heal relational wounds or individual sessions to work on your career and self-esteem, the virtual format makes it easy to integrate this deep work into your actual life.
You don’t have to choose between "science-based therapy" and "spiritual growth." You can have both from the comfort of your own home.
Small Shifts, Big Transformation
Growth doesn’t have to be a painful, uphill battle. In fact, Lisa often teaches that small, approachable shifts in our thoughts and beliefs are more sustainable than trying to overhaul our entire lives overnight.
Through the lens of Psychoastrology®, we use journaling, affirmations, and even meditation to slowly rewrite the "scripts" our wounds have been following. We learn to listen to the messages of our bodies and our intuition, creating a life that feels balanced and aligned.

Your Chiron Sign Matters: Why It’s the Key to Unlocking Personal Transformation
Have you ever noticed that certain challenges in your life seem to repeat themselves, no matter how much "work" you do? Maybe it’s a nagging sense of not being "enough" in your career, or a recurring pattern of feeling misunderstood in your relationships. We often treat these struggles like bugs in our software that need to be deleted. But what if those very vulnerabilities were actually the key to your greatest strength?
In my work as a therapist and the creator of Psychoastrology®, I’ve found that the most profound shifts happen when we stop trying to "fix" ourselves and start understanding the architecture of our inner wounds. At the center of that architecture is a small but mighty celestial point called Chiron.
Understanding your Chiron sign isn't just about astrology; it’s about deep, transformative psychology. It’s the missing piece of the puzzle for anyone looking to achieve true work/life balance, emotional freedom, and self-growth.
What is Chiron? Meet the "Wounded Healer"
In Greek mythology, Chiron was a centaur known for his wisdom and healing abilities. Ironically, he suffered from a wound that he could not heal for himself. This archetype, the Wounded Healer, represents the parts of us that feel most broken, rejected, or sensitive.
In your birth chart, Chiron is represented by a symbol that looks like a key. And that’s exactly what it is: a key to unlocking your potential. While your Sun sign represents your ego and your Moon sign represents your emotions, Chiron represents your core wound.
But here is the beautiful part: the place where you were hurt the most is also where you have the most to offer the world. By healing your own Chironic wound, you develop a unique type of empathy and wisdom that allows you to help others in a way no one else can.

The Magic of Psychoastrology®
I created Psychoastrology® to bridge the gap between traditional psychotherapy and spiritual insight. While traditional therapy is incredible for processing trauma and changing behavior, adding the lens of astrology helps us see the blueprint of why those patterns exist in the first place.
In my book, The Chiron Effect, I explore how this placement governs different areas of our lives, psychological, emotional, social, and even financial. When we identify our Chiron sign, we stop shooting in the dark. We can pinpoint exactly where our "sensitivity orbit" lies and start applying the specific medicine that placement requires.
How Your Chiron Sign Shapes Your Life
Each Chiron placement tells a different story about where you might feel "less than." Here are a few examples of how these wounds manifest and, more importantly, how they transform:
Chiron in Cancer: The Wound of Belonging
If your Chiron is in Cancer, your wound often centers around themes of abandonment or not feeling "at home" in the world. You might have experienced a lack of emotional nurturing in childhood, leading to a lifelong quest for security.
- The Transformation: Healing comes through learning to mother yourself. When you become your own source of safety, you become a powerful nurturer for others, creating "home" wherever you go.
Chiron in Taurus: The Wound of Worth
Taurus is all about the physical world and self-worth. A Chiron in Taurus placement might show up as a struggle with body image, financial insecurity, or a feeling that you don't deserve the "good things" in life.
- The Transformation: Transformation happens when you decouple your value from your productivity or your bank account. You learn to honor your body as a temple and find security within your own being.
Chiron in Virgo: The Wound of Perfection
Virgo seeks order and health. With Chiron here, you might be your own harshest critic, constantly feeling like you’re "not enough" because you aren't perfect. This can manifest as health anxiety or workaholism.
- The Transformation: The shift occurs when you embrace the beauty of "good enough." Your attention to detail becomes a gift of service rather than a weapon of self-criticism.

The Process of Personal Transformation
Unlocking your Chiron isn't a one-time event; it’s a journey of integration. In my sessions, whether we’re doing Zoom therapy or in-person work, we follow a path of conscious transformation:
- Identify the Wound: We look at your chart to see where Chiron sits. This brings the "unconscious" into the light.
- Recognize the Patterns: We look at your history. Do you always pick the same type of partner? Do you always hit a wall at work when things get too successful? These are "orbits" around your Chiron wound.
- Self-Empathy and Forgiveness: This is the most crucial step. We use meditation and intuitive techniques to meet that wounded part of you with compassion instead of judgment.
- Rewire the Belief: Using principles of energy and mindset work, we replace the "I am broken" narrative with "I am healing and gaining wisdom."
- Integration: We don't try to erase the wound. We integrate it. Just like the Japanese art of Kintsugi, where broken pottery is mended with gold, your scars become the most beautiful and valuable part of you.
Why Now? The Importance of the Chiron Return
If you are between the ages of 48 and 51, you are likely experiencing what we call the Chiron Return. This is a major astrological milestone where Chiron returns to the place it was when you were born.
It can be a challenging time, as old wounds often resurface with new intensity. However, it is also the single most potent time for personal transformation. It’s an invitation to finally lay down the burdens you’ve been carrying for half a century and step into your role as a "wise elder" or mentor.

Moving Toward Your Best Self
At Nolatherapy, I believe that emotional health is the foundation for everything else: your career, your relationships, and your sense of purpose. By understanding your Chiron sign, you gain a map of your soul's deepest challenges and its highest potential.
You don't have to navigate this alone. Whether you're dealing with anxiety, relationship issues, or a general sense of being "stuck," looking at your life through the lens of Psychoastrology® can provide the clarity you’ve been searching for.
Take the Next Step
If you’re ready to stop orbiting your wounds and start living from your strengths, here are a few ways we can work together:
- Book a Session: I offer highly personalized therapy sessions via phone, FaceTime, and Zoom to accommodate your busy schedule.
- Listen and Learn: Check out my podcast, All Things Therapy, where I dive deep into these topics with incredible guests.
- Read the Book: Pick up a copy of The Chiron Effect to explore your specific sign and start your own self-guided healing journey.
Your Chiron sign is not a life sentence of pain; it is a blueprint for your evolution. It’s time to pick up the key and see what’s waiting on the other side of the door.

Why Psychoastrology® Will Change the Way You View Your Mental Health
Have you ever felt like you’re doing all the "right" things for your mental health: going to therapy, journaling, practicing mindfulness: but you still find yourself bumping up against the same invisible walls? Maybe it’s a recurring pattern in your relationships where you feel "not enough," or a persistent career block that keeps you playing small despite your talent.
Traditional psychotherapy is a powerful tool for understanding our past and managing our present, but sometimes it feels like we’re looking at a map that’s missing a few pages. This is where Psychoastrology® comes in.
As a licensed clinical social worker with over 20 years of experience, I’ve seen how traditional methods can sometimes reach a plateau. That’s why I developed Psychoastrology®: a unique blend of depth psychology and natal astrology designed to help you identify, understand, and finally heal your deepest core wounds. It isn't just about "what's in your stars"; it's about using the blueprint of your soul to navigate your mental health with newfound clarity and compassion.
What Exactly is Psychoastrology®?
At its heart, Psychoastrology® is an integrative therapeutic approach that sits at the intersection of personal psychology and natal astrology. It doesn't use astrology to predict the future or tell you who you're going to marry. Instead, it uses your birth chart as a diagnostic tool: a psychological map that illuminates the unconscious material you might have been carrying for decades.
Think of it this way: Depth psychology gives us the "why" behind our behaviors, while astrology provides the "where" and "how" these patterns are hardwired into our energy. By combining these two, we can move past surface-level symptoms and get straight to the root of your struggles.
In my practice at Nolatherapy, I use this method to help clients bridge the gap between their spiritual selves and their psychological well-being. Whether we are working through Zoom therapy sessions or exploring these concepts in my book, the goal is always the same: personal transformation.
The Secret Key: The Chiron Effect
The cornerstone of Psychoastrology® is a minor planet known as Chiron, or "The Wounded Healer." In astrology, Chiron represents our deepest core wounds: the ones that often feel like they’ll never fully go away.
In my book, The Chiron Effect: Healing Our Core Wounds through Astrology, Empathy, and Self-Forgiveness, I explain how the placement of Chiron in your birth chart acts as a pointer toward your recurring life themes. These aren't just "problems" to be solved; they are invitations to heal.
The "Chiron Effect" is the gravitational pull of these wounds. When we are unaware of them, we orbit around our pain, unconsciously making choices in our relationships and careers based on old injuries. For example:
- Chiron in Aries might manifest as a wound around your right to exist or take up space.
- Chiron in Taurus might show up as a persistent feeling of physical or financial insecurity.
- Chiron in Gemini often relates to wounds around communication and being "heard" or understood.
By identifying your specific Chiron placement, we can stop guessing why certain things keep happening to you and start working on the specific energy that needs your attention.
Why Astrology Matters for Your Mental Health
You might be wondering, "Lisa, I’m a skeptic. How does a planet help me with my anxiety?"
It’s a fair question! The beauty of Psychoastrology® is that it provides a framework for self-reflection that is highly personalized. Standard therapy often categorizes issues (e.g., "General Anxiety Disorder"), which is helpful for clinical treatment. However, astrology adds a layer of nuance. It explains your specific flavor of anxiety and how it relates to your sense of identity, security, or belonging.
Using astrology in a therapeutic setting allows us to:
- Remove the Shame: When you see a pattern in your chart, it feels less like a "personal failing" and more like a "soul contract" or a natural part of your makeup.
- Identify Blind Spots: Astrology can highlight parts of our personality we’ve repressed or ignored.
- Validate Your Intuition: Many clients feel a massive sense of relief when we discuss their chart. They often say, "I've always felt this way, but I didn't have the words for it."
The Two Secret Ingredients: Empathy and Self-Forgiveness
While the chart provides the diagnosis, the "medicine" in Psychoastrology® is always Empathy and Self-Forgiveness.
Many of us are our own harshest critics. We beat ourselves up for "knowing better" but still making the same mistakes. In our sessions, we shift that narrative. We look at your younger self: the one who developed these patterns as a survival mechanism: with deep compassion.
Self-forgiveness isn't about letting yourself off the hook for bad behavior; it's about acknowledging that you were doing the best you could with the tools and the "wounding" you had at the time. When we forgive ourselves, we break the cycle of shame that keeps us stuck in the Chiron orbit. This is where real emotional health and personal transformation begin.
How It Works in Real Life
Imagine you are someone who constantly struggles with work/life balance and feels a compulsive need to overachieve to feel worthy. In a traditional session, we might talk about your childhood and your parents' expectations.
In a Psychoastrology® session, we would look at your Chiron placement. If we find Chiron in your 10th House (the house of career and public image), we see that your wound is specifically tied to your "status" in the world. Knowing this allows us to use targeted affirmations and "state practices" to shift your internal value system. Instead of just "trying to relax," you are working on the fundamental belief that your worth is not tied to your output.
This blend of spiritual insight and practical psychological tools is what makes this approach so life-changing. It’s not just talk therapy; it’s soul-work.
Moving Toward Wholeness
Healing isn't about erasing your past or pretending you don't have wounds. It’s about becoming the "Wounded Healer" yourself. It’s about taking the wisdom you’ve gained from your struggles and using it to live a more conscious, empowered, and loving life.
If you’re ready to look at your mental health through a new lens, I invite you to explore this path with me. Whether you’re interested in individual counseling, couples therapy, or simply diving into the world of Psychoastrology® through my podcast, All Things Therapy, there is a space for you here.
Your mental health is a journey of returning to yourself. Let's use every tool available: from the couch to the stars: to help you get there.
